Yea it's a lot of work to restore a frame.i did it once on a subframe it's harder than it looks so when we restored a friend's 97 tacoma(we got a junkyard frame since his was bent)we decided to have done by the powder coaters

$9k on an engine!! He spent 20k on the truck and will have more than it’s worth in rebuilding it when it’s all said and done. He’s got money and these videos pay for his projects so guess it’s all good. Seems as if the previous owner ripped Alex off on this truck though

In the process of Doing this exact same thing on a 97 f350 crew cab dually it’s getting a full restoration basically and some suspension and engine goodies

Currently I'm in the process of coating the rear of my frame on my 97 f150 4.6 stepside. I didn't go all the way in depth with the frame but I'm using rustoleum rust converter and still deciding on what I want to use for the frame protection. While I'm in there, I'm replacing the shocks, some sensors, and hopefully do a lightning style exhaust with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler, and rear cab mounts. Were you able to find the rear cab mounts or find a trick? I planned on getting 2 long bolts and then using the new bolts and but a nut on the bottom of the cab mount with the included washer and bolt.

Wow is that looking good 👍
You’re doing a better job coating the metal then the ford factory could ever do.

Alex, you can now get a job at Ford building F-150s since you are basically building one from scratch! 😆

I'm been replacing all the bushings on my lightning lately ontop of cleaning it up like you

I ordered a bunch of prothane poly bushings, including cab mounts. They are stiffer than energy suspension and have a lifetime warranty. Got all the cab mounts for 168 ish on ebay from them. About to order their leaf spring poly bushings next but their special order

Also all f150's should have the same leaf spring bolts that you need, so maybe get some from a junkyard
