Hey guys, welcome back to Legit Streetcars and welcome to the Supercharged! C4 First wash and detailed video. We finally made it here and if you guys have been following along, you know we sorted this car out mechanically by diagnosing and replacing a ton of Parts performing some much needed maintenance and taking it on numerous leisurely test drives at no more than one a throttle and now it's time to make this car look as good as it runs. Now if you guys saw the phone call video on my second Channel Legit Street Cars 2 with the previous owner Marlin hey Marlon Yeah, hey, this is Alex Palmieri then you know this C4 has a ton of potential. But unfortunately after sitting for about six years including outside at the auction, the C4 is in rough cosmetic shape to say the least. So in this video we're gonna detail this car inside and out, including a multi step paint correction and ceramic coating. So this should be a very satisfying video. and we have some tricks up. Our Sleeve in this one like levitation of the C4 So you guys know what the drill. Grab yourself that cold beverage, a snack, maybe some cereal. it's the morning for you I Don't know. Let me know in the comments section what you guys are munching on during this video and sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. All right with the Corvette miraculously levitating in the air, Let's get this show on the road. Oh hey! Peter What do you got there? Nothing. No, it's definitely not quick Jacks that we just set up. Look at that we got quickjacks. guys! This is gonna take detailing to a whole new level. These are the dad jokes. All right. So we're gonna take these wheels off so we can clean inside of here as well. This is seriously cool having these quick jacks move them around all over the shop too. All right guys, We're keeping only the satisfying goodness in this video so it's gonna move pretty quickly. But we're gonna do stuff like this: spraying our Amsoil Degreaser all over this nasty control arm. and yes, now that is what I'm talking about on the passenger side. This is what it looked like before. We did a little cleaning and here is what we have after all right guys. First wash time here we go. Foreign looks so much better. Oh and we made a Target top. It's custom. it's Custom Custom fabricated targets. Yep. Oh and then for some reason there's rubber on the back I'm not sure. nothing A little pressure washer can't take care of. All right? here's what the C4 looks like after pressure washing off all of the dirt and needless to say I think the real transformation of this car is going to take place. During the buff and polish, you can kind of get an idea of what color this car really is and then most of the paint is just simply faded. But we are going to be ceramic coating the entire car with the Avalon King armor Shield 9 ceramic coating kit and the first step is using their prep shampoo to remove all the old wax and grease and check out how well this stuff Foams up. hahaha So much fun! Look at that! There's literally dirt coming out in the foam right now. We have to definitely use the claim it on this guy too. Come with me if you want to live. instead of repainting the Eclipse there, that's what it's going to look like. Perfect color match I'm gonna give you to the count of ten one two ten this is the best best phone can ever. There goes our targets up. We can fill these tail lights and before I get too carried away if I haven't already. I Gotta tell you about the Insane Black Friday sale from Avalon King Okay you guys know I've been using the Armor Shield 9 DIY ceramic coating kit from Avalon King for the last four years and I've coated every car in my fleet. This stuff is amazing but now is the time to buy. Check out these Crazy! Black Friday deals. If you buy one kit which is enough to coat a small to medium sized car, you're gonna get 20 off. If you have a larger car SUV or truck, you're gonna need two kits and so you're gonna get 30 off and a free eight ounce bottle of their armor. Shield Light fast ceramic coating spray and my favorite deal here. Three full kits you're gonna get 50 off and they're 16 ounce version of The Fast Ceramic spray. This stuff works really well. We did the Rolls Royce with it. Basically the more you buy, the more you save and if you're new to ceramic coating, don't worry I'm going to show you guys how to do it on the Corvette later in this video. but I'll also leave you a a four minute tutorial video that I made linked down below that shows you everything you need to know, but it is super easy to do. If you can wax a car, you can definitely ceramic coat a car after you've cleaned your car. Just wipe the coating on, wait 60 seconds and wipe it off. It's just that easy. The armor Shield 9 fills the pores of your clear coat with an invisible shield that protects your car from the elements and makes any surface you coat super hydrophobic, so dirt and water just bead right off. It lasts years, not months like Wax and it gives your paint a deep glossy shine. Here's a little sneak peek to the C4 paint. It's also one of the best trimmer stores on the market, so no need to buy a separate product for that. But act quick if you want to get yourself a kit because this is a limited time and limited quantity offer. So I'll leave a direct link down below and with that, let's continue blasting my C4 a whole yes that I can I Can feel that this thing has just a ton of contaminants in the clear coat. We're gonna pull those up for sure, but okay, good old-fashioned Car Wash Looking at the car wash. Yeah I Don't know if I've actually ever heard that song in its entirety. It's just like in commercials and stuff. I don't know. you know what that song's from. You got to get in this. Peter it's so good. Oh yeah, the two. MIP Method: Yes oh that was waving. You guys ever see that where the basketball player does this little thing with the powder and that's what that was. It's just so satisfying because it was so dirty and I would look at it while we were while we were working on it I'd look at it like I just want to clean them. you cheated you started over here yeah I know I know I Couldn't help myself for two seconds and then Peter he grabbed me. he's like no Alex don't let Temptation grab a hold stop cleaning the car. So I saved these for these videos because it's so much fun to do it all at once. But man, this thing took a lot more mechanically sorting than we originally thought. Potatoes paint. This is insane I like the color way more. Now look at what happened. after washing it and rinsing it, it's still wet right now. but oh my gosh, it's a great color. It's beautiful. Whoa. All right, let's keep going. We have to Clay mitt this guy. so we just need a little bit of lubrication for the clay mitt. Okay, there's like really, no, no little bit of anything with this. A little trick here. if you want to feel the contaminants in your clear coat, just take your hand, put it in a plastic bag and just run it over. You can feel everything. It's so weird. You don't feel anything like this but in the plastic bag. I'm sure there's some science here. scientists out there let me know why I Can feel all the grit in Grime with my hand in this bag? I Don't really get it. But what I do get is that our really sticky clay mitt is going to pull all of this up. Hear it? Yeah, it's like sandpaper and then we'll rinse to clean it off and we'll go. and we'll go right over it and listen. it just sounds smoother. There's no grit, and then once you get into another spot, it's like it's like what I Don't know if my mic is picking any of this up, but it works. The claimant is a phenomenal little detailing tool. Basically, everything is just getting pulled up into this myth, so you want to rinse it off every once in a while and you can reuse one of these myths like I don't know 20 30 times? Probably All right. So at this point we are just gonna go like this to every exterior surface of the car, including the glass every so often. Just make sure to rinse this guy and you're good to go. All right. So we're finished with the clay mint we have, rinsed and dried the car and put the old wheels back on. We have some different wheels that we're gonna install later on, but uh I Love these quick Jacks Here you go Peter one of many keys. Hopefully this thing still starts after getting things wet. It is an old C4 So that blower wine baby. it's just so good guys. it's gonna look nice. Okay so here is our Arsenal for our two-stage paint correction. We're using pretty much all Rupe's stuff and uh, we're gonna be using a few different pads. We have coarse wool, coarse foam and of course we have fine polishing pads little guys. So anyway, let's kick this off with a coarse wool I Think that is going to help us out in this first stage. All right. We're gonna start off in the front here with the hood. you can see the bumper is very faded and after we do the paint correction we are going to go around and touch up the entire car. Alex What are you doing? Bend over. We're gonna get old man back. Oh yeah, we got quick checks. Raise it up Pizza! we are the Earth So I don't have to band you you raise. Bring it to me. almost. Oh this is sweet. Look at that. This is the way to detail. S I Have no idea. Look at that. I'm gonna be able to detail for for days. Well which is pretty much we're gonna be out here for days. I'm really looking to see if we can restore this bumper. I'm not really too worried about the hood I just gotta look good. Okay let's see, we got what do we got? What do we got? What do we got? Is this bumper gonna be? Oh yeah, this bumper is going to be okay. We have some before and some after. Look at the difference. I'm bouncing around a little bit because I want to show you guys as much satisfactiony scratch removal goodness as possible in a short amount of time. So we got to move to the spoiler real quick and do a tape line. I Believe this is the worst part of the car so we're gonna split it up and I'm gonna do all the stages and the ceramic coating just on one side of this should be pretty cool. All right. I'm gonna buff out the passenger side of the spoiler. Let me know in the comments section if you guys like the spoiler or not, I think if I remove it I'll have a bunch of holes back here and I don't really want to deal with holes but anyway I'm gonna do the worst side. It has a little cut Mark right here from someone leaving their coffee mug Marlin on the Corvette for too long and this says just about a worst case scenario as far as swirls in the paint. All right. So here we go. Stage one with the coarse compound and wool pad. Leave us swirls go away all right. So I gotta kind of be careful on this. This is where you can burn paint around these edges right here. All right. So that's after our first pass with the course, pad and compound. Let's see what we got. All right. This is what we had in this is what we have now. so that is just after our first stage. This paint is clearing up very very nicely. Let's move on to step two and get rid of some of these micro scratches. All right. That was step two. So we're using a fine compound and a fine pad. Oh man, this is a beautiful color. Wow, we've exfoliated it. Look at that. It went from a burgundy to like a bright like a much brighter red. Yeah it went up quite a few Shades and you can see the metallic in there now. Just absolutely beautiful. All right. So the last step before the ceramic coating is using the IPA prep spray or you can just use rubbing alcohol mixed with water. The goal here is just to remove any wax oils or compound that you just rubbed all over the surface and that way the ceramic coating can adhere properly. All right. now. A few dabs of the coating on our applicator pad and we are just wiping it on. We can do this entire section too and I Like to go back and forth up and down. Really get it in the pores of the clear. All right. After 60 seconds we're wiping her off and that is it. We have ceramic coated this. Wing So let's take off some tape now. we'll clean up this tape line and I'll show you the results. All right guys! So we went from this all the way to the right side. Look at that totally different color. Absolutely amazing. This looks so good! Okay, you can see the legit Three Cars logo and it's like Peter is ingrained deep inside of the Seaforce paints. Look at that. that is so freaky! I Just finished up the back wing and it's like glass. Now take a look at this paint color with the light. I Can't wait to do the final reveal of this car outside. Oh man, this is beautiful. So with that I have this entire sea of a hood and fenders. It's just there's so. there's a lot of Corvette in this area right here. All right. So we got Peter working on the driver's side fender. I'm doing another tape line on the hood. so I'm gonna polish this entire side and we'll see what it looks like. Watch that hood Peter Watch that hood I Needed a good before and after. How's it coming out? Oh she's so pretty! Oh wow, that is nice I Can't wait to touch up all these little chips. They're really small, nothing major. They should pretty much disappear. Beautiful. All right. here's after one quick pass. big difference already and you can really see the difference on this part. right here on the bumper. It is very faded on the top and this is just with a few minutes with the first stage of cutting compounds so coming up much better. These cars obviously not perfect. It has little chips in it and little spider webs here and there, but it's a legit street car. It's like a 70 000 mile Corvette that was used so it's not going to be perfect, but we're going to make it look pretty darn good and we may be bolting those on soon. All right I am on the fine polish right now on the hood and that is really giving it a lot of shine. So this is the final of the two stages. It is really cleaning up this paint. It is smooth, very nice. Let's see before I finish up. Oh man, look at that and there are a lot of cars out there. They don't have to be abandoned that kind of look this way. Mostly not Enthusiast cars, but just normal cars that could look a million times better with a buff job. Am I melted Now Peter You see how weird that looks about the story. I'm a ghost of the C4 past. you're possessing this before. That's right. Whoa. That fine polish really does the trick. dude. a good job man that looks awesome. Wow. Unbelievable. It's gonna look great outside with the natural light. You want to do a you wanna do a tape removal? I'm done with the one side of the hood. Oh yeah yeah, we have two different colors. That's what we have. Wow is that faded cool. This looks so good. It's a two-faced It's kind of like what we did with the Fox Body. Mustang We put a tape line right down the entire car, finished one entire side and then brought it to a car show to show everybody how we got it and how the whole car would look. We'll keep going on this. I'll show you some more satisfaction and then we are getting getting inside a hill. All right. We just finished up the passenger side door I Still have to do the quarter panel but we did this as well. Looking pretty and check out the wheels that I just picked up off of. Facebook Marketplace for the C4 these have one-year-old tires Nitto Tires that have a couple thousand miles on them. Uh, 600 bucks? Not too bad. So these are the original wheels from the LT1 Corvette I think they're called saw blade wheels and I believe the older ones were salad shooters or I I don't know. they got a lot of weird names. They could be turbine wheels too I think people call them. but nonetheless, these are offset wheels so the fronts are narrower than the rears. but they're all also directional because of these little blades that have to go a certain way. So these wheels do say left and right inside of them. I think they're really cool. obviously. Very period. Correct. Yes, we're gonna get an air filter. the other one fell off. so I still have to clean these up. But let me know in the comments section if you like the C6 chrome wheels, I Don't have any problem with these wheels I Just don't know if they necessarily match this car. but I don't know, let me know in the comments. I kind of I Kind of like both at this point. what are you doing Peter I'm just cleaning out the under. Oh yes, Oh yeah, look at that. I didn't want to put this beautiful gas cap. Whoa! Good job on that. Looks amazing. It just felt wrong to put it back on all this nastiness. No one will see that, but you know this is a legit Street Detail right? That's right. The details. The little ones. All right guys. We're done buffing the car. so right now I'm just gonna wipe the entire car down with some rubbing alcohol and water in preparation for the ceramic coating. but before we do that I want to fill in all of these Rock chips and then we'll let those dry while we clean the disgusting interior. Oh, and take a look at the Corvette with both of the wheels on this side. What do you think? So the previous owner did a little bit of touch up you can see right here, but I think he just took his touch up pen or brush and just kind of blotched it all over the place. We're not going to do that. So we had the factory paint color matched to that gas door mixed up. Add a paint shop down the street so less is more and we just want to add color to this chip. That's it. We don't want to build it up and have a big Ridge or anything like that. There we go. So with these little chips, just a tiny dab Damn, that's it. We didn't build anything up, we didn't make a big mess out of it and then you see it right there as you pull the camera away, it kind of just disappears. So this is going to take a while. There are probably like a hundred of these little chips, but that's okay because we love. We love our C4 All right guys. We finished all the touch-up paints so while that's drying, we're going to do the interior. Check out these old GM window motors if you guys know old. GM You know that's not normal like that is a good good window motor. I Really like this interior. I Think it's super cool. You just sink right into these seats. look at how raised the door sill is like you really? when you're in here, you are just sunken in it. It is fantastic. It's like nothing else. These seats have all sorts of buttons. uh, most of which I'm not sure what they do, but they look cool. Their seat adjustments up here as well. So anyway, we are going to Mint this interior out right now. I Don't think it's going to be that bad. All right. So we're going to kick this off by removing these very nice Corvette floor mats. All right. And since we have a pressure washer, we're going to pressure wash these clean. All right. there we go. These things are sweet, all right. So we're going to hang these up and we'll let them drip dry all over random random stuff. All right. These seats are definitely very, very dirty. and this isn't mold. this is paper. There was paper sitting here and then it might have gotten a little wet. That's all that is, so that's kind of good. Oh and something. I Learned somebody emailed me and they worked at Carvana and I guess the car was sold to Carvana from CarMax But anyway, it was listed as a biohazard. So according to Carvana, this was a biohazard car. That could mean anything from blood to mold. Um I think they just thought this was molded. It does not smell in here at all. There's no mold in the car, it's just paper. But here you go. A biohazard car. That's what we're cleaning right now. Oh, and this car was sold from Carvana for only thirteen hundred dollars. and then he bought it and flipped it at Copart to me for 3 300 bucks. So there's always meat on the bone. Remember that the C4 has buttons and switches everywhere. This guy pops the back and then there's a button here. it doesn't seem to work. Peter Do you have that one? Oh, you do. What does it do? Oh, it's the side bolsters. Oh squeezy eggs. Look at that gets even more squeezy. You can hug yourself. Oh, they were not messing around. It's crazy. When they went to the C5 seats, it was the complete opposite of this. There was like no bolstering at all. But what's important is this leather is still very nice and supple. It's not all dried out and destroyed, so we're gonna be able to rejuvenate this with some leather conditioner. Oh yeah, all right. So I've blown out this seat and vacuumed as much as I can. Time to get to some cleaning. Oh yeah, yeah, most of this is just dirt and dust from the auction. I Think the car was very well taken care of. Other than that, and although it's missing the target top. I don't think any water came in. They had it wrapped up really nicely at the auction and had it been without a top threw some rain. this this old GM leather would have been toast, would have been rock hard cracks everywhere. Look at this. This is beautiful. All right. I think I have gotten in these pleats as good as they lad from Chicago Can get in the pleats if you guys like. Skip these videos around and hit them right at the right spot. It's just pure. Insanity I think at first I thought maybe these seats had buckled in a little bit but I I don't know. Do you think they shrunk right here? I Feel like the top the top is. Maybe there's a little that feels a little dry, right? Yeah. C4 guys let me know if this section of your seat looks like this. this is the only part of the seat that I thought might have shrunken a little bit. maybe from getting wet and this part is a little bit worn out. but uh I don't know. At the same time it kind of might be normal too. I don't know we got this seat all cleaned up. It is time for some leather balm from Clyde's so you guys may have seen me use this on the color restoration kits, but it works really well as a standalone leather conditioner. and it's a little bit thicker than most and you're gonna put it on like a wax sort of and it does give it a shine which then you buff off. It does do a pretty good job. look at that. I was just restoring the color just in itself. Let me check this out. Just a little faded and this will bring her back back to the 90s. This is hard work restoring the old 40th anniversary. Corvette What should I name this thing guys? should I name it Ruby Are there any? There's probably no other cars out there named Ruby so I could take that one. I Think right. All right. So now I'm gonna buff off the excess re-moisturizing cream. That's what they call it. kind of more of a re-moisturizing wax if you ask me. but whatever here, this this is the place to be. Yeah, look at this seat. I mean it's not perfect, but for basically investing like no money into this. Wow. I Gotta say the engineer that designed these seats. once the C5 guy came in and had to have been a different guy. he was from the trucks. Yeah right, they just brought him over. they fired the C4 seat guy. He must have been like seriously, that's what you gave us. Look at this. Look at the intricacy, the buttons, the complexity and the noises that they make. I mean you can't beat that. All right? So we went from a nasty looking seat that Carvana deemed a biohazard all the way to this beauty with its individually cushioned pleats. It's numerous buttons and leather and probably vinyl on the sides. And yeah, this is so 90s. Are you from the 90s? I don't know. I Hate these I'm an 80s kid. Yeah, me too. Max what era are you from the 90s when you were born in the 90s? 1990 Ew look ew. what is that supposed to mean Grandpa 90s guy over here. What do you expect? Everything for free? Yeah. so I Feel like I've just been editing a lot lately, so if you could cut me down to like four hours a week, but pay me the same typical typical 90s, all right as I sit in my newly moisturized seat, it's time for this. Dash I Was gonna put the bottle down on the ground, but I'm so high up I Don't believe this. Dash is cracked anything. It just has a ton of auction dirt. It's black, almost thought it was brown for a minute there. There's so much dust, it's like somebody was just driving around the lot doing donuts. Yeah, who would have done that? No one. because this thing barely ran. So so nice. Like no airbag. We don't need that, we just need storage for our aviator glasses. That's what this is for. It's not even dirty in there. you know we got to do to these vents. Steamer: Very satisfying because the steamer does a great job of getting in all the nooks and crannies. So spooky, it's a Halloween detail. I Am going to be a little gentle here because there are lots of 90s electronics and we don't want to touch really any of those. but we can see this and we're disinfecting too, which is important in this day and age, right? We like disinfection. You do have to be a little bit careful with the steam though because it is steam. It's really hot so you don't want to melt anything or deform any plastic surfaces. But uh, it works well. All right. We've been staring at this dragonfly for weeks now. it's time for him to leave. Oh I'm breaking I'm gonna have I'm so sorry. this is not the proper Trapper way to go out. but I'll name him C4 Charlie he lived a good life C4 Charlie Probably had the bug equivalent to jean shorts and white New Balance shoes but If Only They had heads up display in the 90s I mean they did GM actually did. They didn't put it on the C4 though, it was never on the C4 but I think they had it in like a Grand Prix or something or other. What? Yeah, Grand Prix but not a Corvette Yeah, it was weird. we had to wait until 1999 on the Corvettes to get heads-up display. It's ridiculous. All right, this steering wheel is super faded. I Think we'll be able to restore it though. Okay, so that's looking good now because I got it wet I Don't think it'll stay that way though. Well, just cleaning it really did make a big difference. and this steering wheel is just in excellent condition. It's a great way to be able to kind of tell the overall condition of a car is the steering wheel. Usually if they're all chopped up, it hasn't really been taken care of. But this thing is great and we're gonna make it look even better with the ceramic coating. This stuff is really good at restoring faded trim, so as it dried it kind of went back to what it looked like. but this will lock it in and make it look good forever. I Don't ceramic coat the parts of the Interior that you're necessarily going to be resting your hands on so we won't do the leather part of the steering wheel. just this airbag and the surrounding trim around it All right? So then we'll just wipe off the excess. All right? So our steering wheel went from looking like this, faded out and old, to looking like this basically a New Old Stock NOS part that just came out of a box. This looks so good! Wow! this interior is really cool too! I Gotta say so. Retro Good combination of digital gauges and analog as well. A little infotainment screen if you will. That basically just gives you warning lights and stuff like that. But we also have the Alpine Stereo which obviously was upgraded but it has Bluetooth which is kind of cool. All right, let's move on to cleaning up some carpet. Amazing! Grace All right, you guys know how much I love my hundred dollar or so Bissell Carpet cleaner. Actually when I posted this up the first time I said it was like a hundred dollars but then inflation hit and it went up to like 150 I bought it at 100. All right. this was an investment for me. so they're a little bit more but still very very worth it, especially if you use them in your house and you have kids. But anyway, check this out. All right. So yeah, the carpets really weren't all that dirty. Sometimes you see dirt going right through the machine there, but this is pretty good. This took me about one minute and we're in really good shape. so now I just gotta finish off the sides and the petals all right. So with the pedals cleaned up, this is what our carpet looks like. Nice plush, ruby red C4 Corvette Carpeting And yes, this has an iPod connector. All right. I Have to finish up the carpet and the seats. but I'll show you the grand reveal of the Interior once we get outside with the rest of the car. But right now I Do want a ceramic coat the car so that that can dry while we continue this. We're trying to be efficient bouncing around. so while the paint chips were drying, we do the interior and now we'll ceramic coat the car. so then when that's drying, we'll finish the interior all right. Time for the ceramic coating. You guys already know how to do this. We are just wiping it on and we're gonna work in smaller sections about Yay Big and I like to go up and down side to side little crisscross applesauce and we're just filling in all the pores. That's all very easy. It's easier to do this than wax that's for sure and you guys can clearly see the area that you just ceramic coated so you don't have to worry about not remembering where you ceramic coated when you do this little trick. I'm about to show you which is since you have to wait for it to dry for 60 seconds. just run over to another part of the car, apply the coating, and then by the time you're done doing this, that'll be done drying. You can zip over there, wipe off the excess, and you could ceramic coat a car like this in like an hour. It's really just all in the prep work. It's how good you want it to look or you want to spend some time buffing out the car if it needs it. Which this one definitely did. All right. So it's been 60 seconds and we're just wiping this off. Bada bing Bada. Boom. That's it. So we're gonna do the rest of the car. Uh, let it dry for about eight hours before you put it outside and get it wet or anything like that and you're good. I'd say it's like butter, but it's just. it's more like glass. The ceramic coating is all done, the interior is done. Uh, We're gonna move on to some engine bay detailing. and yeah, we're getting rid of this red stuff, fixing up some wires. We're gonna clean it up under here, make it a little bit more presentable. We don't need this. I Mean we may use some corrugated too, but not not red. This is just. it's a little bit too much. it's too. Honda e Were you ever into Hondas Peter I I grew up on Hondas Okay, was that a serious question? I mean this is It's Honda E right? right? It's very hard to like. Yeah, I never did that, but that is very hot. What's the most riceiest thing you've ever done? I I Made Racing Stripes with duct tape. Okay, there you go. We've all made mistakes, all right. So we're going to clean all that up and Peter is working on a sub harness for this. Oh, and while I'm cleaning up the engine bay and we have the hood popped, it's easy to clean this inner fender liner. this was so faded before and I have fully restored it. Check this out! So I use this product called Mudslinger from Amsoil and this stuff works really well. It's mostly for motorcycles and ATVs but check this out. so it restores the black plastic liner and then you just spray it on and wipe it off. I already pressure washed this? Yeah even I can smell that Peter can't smell anything but this smells so good it's like a cherry flavor or something. It's basically liquefied candy is what I think they use in there I'm not sure but anyway, so I just sprayed that on. We'll wipe off the excess and then the reason it's called Mud Slinger is because nothing's going to stick to this so it'll stay clean. So I think this is a perfect product for a fender liner because that's exactly why the fender liner is there to protect from mud and dirt and water and whatnot. So not only does it now look really nice, but now dirt and everything is just going to not stick to it. So really cool. I'm just going to go ahead and use it on pretty much all of this stuff too. Yes, this looks great. All right there we go. I Think little stuff like this just kind of went up to your detail. All right, let's clean up these engine covers a little degreaser and a lot of water pressure. Get over here, stay much better. I'm trying to be as gentle as possible under the hood here. Foreign doesn't always work on everything. Sometimes you just need a little bit of elbow grease. like for this supercharger, it's looking good. Kind of wish we had a new little plaque here though. Let's clean these clamps up. just have a little bit of Degreaser on my brush that should make these look really good. All right. So after a little bit of scrubbing with Degreaser this is what we have and this engine protector Shine from Gunk works pretty well. Doesn't make it all gooey, just spray it on, wipe it off. and what's nice is it doesn't attract anything. so it'll look good for a long time and the dirt just won't stick to it. So anyway, just wanted to show you a little short section here of what we're working with, but hopefully we will make the entire engine look, you know, kind of like that and definitely not like that. So we're going around fixing wires too. This one was exposed and it was broken so we're just gonna mend the two together. A little bit of solder goes a long way There we go there we go. Proper wiring repair. Bye Peter All right, this doesn't look very pretty. see what it looks like after the Smoke Clears This is just after a steaming and a little wipe down and here it is. after spraying the engine protector and wiping that down too. I Just got done polishing out the tailpipes. The entire car is ceramic coated. We're just putting our final touches on it and while cleaning the driver's seat cover up this guy's name I Found this this is from Jenny Chevrolet A Chevy dealer around here. 8 000 miles. This is from back in the day and it was a waiter for a power steering recall. Kind of cool. This was literally jammed in the driver's side seat pleat. so a little bit of archeology there. All right. she's coming down and going outside for the grand reveal. Wait till you see the interior and this paint up close outside. I Really like the wheels I'm keeping these wheels for sure. These look so cool. Well you wouldn't believe it. We made it right outside of the garage to go film the final reveal and it doesn't start. Does this ever end? Peter 10 minutes of good running and then we have to something else we've sprayed some starting fluid in that doesn't do the trick. It definitely sounds like something is wrong with the ignition. Yeah! I Don't know we got the coil. I'm just gonna just gonna swap that again. Oh man. I Just can't believe this. I don't even know which way this plugs in at this point. Uh, okay. there we go There's that? No, not the coil. Great. I Was going to show you guys this during the grand reveal but we cleaned up a ton of wiring. uh which? I will show you eventually at some point. but let's uh, let's just eliminate the MSD ignition boxes. Let's go straight to the coil. Okay, all right. Wow. Okay, so either that box or that box or something in the MSD ignition system is bad and we were so gentle we didn't pressure wash this or anything. I I Don't know. Whatever. All right guys, let's just pretend that little mishap never happened and that this is a very very reliable. Corvette So we went from this a nasty looking forgotten auction car that no one wanted to bid on looked really really bad all the way to what we have today. A Beautiful 40th anniversary Ruby Red Corvette with the factory wheels and a period correct green wood body kit and I Gotta say for spending about three days on this I think Peter and I did a pretty good job and we didn't really spend much money so nothing on the car was repainted. We just did a little bit of touch up and all the buffing, polishing and coating. and uh, on a sunny day like this this car. I mean it's a show stopper. This looks absolutely beautiful I Love the factory wheels. Let me know what you guys think about the ground effects kit. so I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this and install it. but I don't know I've I've considered taking it off I'm just not sure yet I don't know. It's kind of cool in the sense that it's just so 90s and period, correct? So I don't know. Let me know in the comments. would you want to see the ground effects kit removed so it would look more stock? Kind of like this. or should we just let it live on the way that I bought it out outside of the wheels? All right, let me bring you inside of the beautiful Corvette interior and this is what it looked like the first time we opened the door after buying this car. So the driver's seat not in the best of condition. the interior was generally very, very nasty and now we have this a very, very presentable interior. The steering wheel is in excellent condition. All of the switches and knobs they're not worn out, they're not missing, they're lettering. The center console has come back to us, it was a grimy, grimy mess and if you guys remember, inside of here it was quite dirty and now we have this. You have your cassette slots fully intact ready to jam out to some Bon Jovi or Tina Turner or whatever you were into in the 90s 40th anniversary logo right here. and our seat controls are in good shape. The dash is really, really nice, no no cracks. The passenger seat is also a beautiful place to be. Our freshly cleaned carpets are looking pretty and the interior just overall just cleaned up very very nicely. We used to have a lot of junk in the trunk and now we just have beautiful beautiful red carpet. So I'm really really happy with this interior. Nothing is cut up and destroyed. It's a nice driver quality and yeah, we don't have a Target top for this car yet. The only one I could find was like 900 and it wasn't even in perfect condition. So if you guys know of a clear Target top for this car, shoot me an email at Legitstreetcars Gmail.com I'm having a hard time finding one. Something else worth mentioning is the body lines on this car line up very, very nicely. So this is a C4 All right. GM Quality back then wasn't the best, but this car just everything matches well. I mean especially for having an aftermarket body kit. It's just straight as an arrow. you can see the flip up Headlights the body lines there, the bumper. really good shape. It presents itself so well. I Have like five thousand dollars into this car. roughly something like that, maybe 5200 with these new wheels that have new good quality tires and uh yeah, I think it was a pretty good deal. Let me know in the comments. Also, what do you think this car is worth now that it's fully sorted and detailed 69 000 mile clean title C4 with a blower and the other aftermarket parts that you guys have seen us discover I think it's worth probably mid teens something like that and take a look at this engine. This thing was pretty nasty and grimy before and we really went to town on the engine detail but in a safe manner because we didn't want to just pressure wash everything. Everything is just so fragile. You guys know about the engine computer and old wiring and whatnot, but overall it cleaned up very nicely if you remember. We had a lot of the red corrugated tubes all over the place and the wires needed to be shortened quite a bit. So we actually cut up a lot of the Aftermarket Wiring for the MSD stuff and just simply shortened it and routed it better. and so now we have a much more clean setup. The only wiring that's showing now is the MSD stuff that we just disconnected so we'll we'll fix that and clean it up a little bit better one day. Also, I broke the fuel pressure gauge off. that's why there's this gaping hole here. but I don't even know if I'm gonna go back together with that. I think I'm just going to get a new cover on this side and call it a day and I have an Lt4 intake on the way so this will be red. They come factory painted red. Any little surprise for you guys in another video is that we're getting a brand new Pro Charger from the guys at Pro Charger. They like the videos too, but here's just a little bit more of the engine bay detailing that we did and you guys saw how we cleaned up the inner fender liner and the suspension and we cleaned up the cowl as well. There was a lot of dirt and debris basically in every tiny little nook and cranny. All of this is cleaned up. We even did the underside of the hood so it is nice and professional. We even polished up the intercooler a little bit and now we are proud to say that this is our Chevrolet Corvette from Bowling Green Kentucky Here's another shot of our beautiful C4 interior and I Don't know about you guys but I Love driving retro cars. It's just it's like being in a time capsule. She runs so good, Fires right up, idles, right down, decent vacuum. It may or may not have a minor minor belt squeal that we'll have to take care of, but it's an old C4 We're always going to be working on something, but overall the vast majority of this car is sorted out. She is detailed. She is show ready local Cruise Night Show ready. Oh, and take a look at these beautiful tailpipes. Take a look at what the bumper used to look like at the auction, and here's what she looks like. Now we have to get a license plate to cover up the fuel pump. but yeah, we have a lot more to come on the C4 Corvette We are going to show up to Marlin's house and give them a ride in his old baby in his Ruby and then a couple other little modifications and and little things like that. I Had to flip the C4 around to show you the passenger side as well. It just looks good at every single angle I Love it and this color is definitely grown on me. Ruby red I Really like the teal color I like weird colored 90s and 80s cars but they make this car in teal which looks great but so does this and it's Unique to the 40th anniversary package so you couldn't get this color without ordering the 40th anniversary card and same thing with the interior. You only could get this interior color so this combination is specific to this. Edition makes it even more special and just look at how 90s this is and you know what. Love it or hate it. They did a great job matching the color on the ground effects kit and also on the wing. I Mean you can't tell whoever painted this did a phenomenal job. So shout out to you guy in probably 1994 that painted this ground effects kit. You're really good and hopefully still with us all right? So with that Peter and I are gonna Cruise off into the sunset. It is a A Brisk maybe 40 degrees today and we have no target top but it doesn't matter. it doesn't matter when you're in such a beautiful, beautiful C4 Let's turn some heat on. Got our turkey hats ready to go Happy Thanksgiving To everybody out there I Really hope you enjoyed this video and if you did, give it a big thumbs up. Share the video with your friends, subscribe if you haven't already, and most importantly have an awesome day! We'll catch all of you in the next video. Foreign, Foreign..

I have a Festool sander/buffer just wondering if you have used one on paint correction. It's almost like the rupee but it has dual mode. It's a beast when sanding wood. I'm wanting to buy some pads to detail my FX 35. Any thoughts?

If you get rid of the spoiler, I hope you go with something extremely obnoxious like a huge whale tail or some shit. Kind of Road course Style. Haha

Man, you got a hell of a deal on that car. Looks really, really good. The new ProCharger is going to give it a swift kick in the pants too! Btw, they could have said it was a Biohazard also because they found used condoms in the interior…

Love the ground effects kit, love the wing, thumbs down on the new wheels. Hope to see the continued evolution of this vehicle, would be cool to see all the internal electronics returned to factory.

Not a big fan of the body kit or wing, but the stock wheels are awesome!

That car came out awesome. I would leave it just the way it is, it looks great with the retro body kit (and helps set it apart from other C4's).
