I'm gonna give us a 75 chance that we make it nothing. The transmission's welded. you boys ready to go? is that clutch? Definitely smelling oil? Hey guys, welcome back to Legit's three cars and welcome to I Bought a rear wheel drive turbo Honda swapped six-speed manual transmission Mercedes 800 miles away and I flew in one way ticket with a bag of tools to fix it and then drive it home. So we are in.

New Jersey and I brought the entire crew this time except we all had to get up at like three o'clock in the morning. Wake up we're in! Jersey We're gonna go get some some mics, you know? Jersey Mike's just mics. just the jokes are strong this morning. Let me tell you all right guys, here we go.

This is so weird. So I had a bunch of subscribers emailing me about this car in New Jersey on Facebook Marketplace uh they were asking sixteen thousand dollars for it Road and track actually wrote an article on this car. Uh and then they lowered the price to ten thousand and then one of my really awesome subscribers who lived kind of near the guy was able to go secure the car and negotiate the deal. So a big thanks to Joe he got him all the way down to six thousand dollars and I am hoping that it's worth that, but it's just so weird it's just too weird to pass up.

Look at this six-speed manual transmission. this is out of a Chevy Colorado which I didn't even know that they had a six-speed manual and it's very notchy so hopefully that's not a big deal. This is very odd. Oh wow.

Okay, this is pretty hacked up. It's got a screen that they just literally cut into the cluster. It's kind of like a little tablet or something. okay in the pictures that looked a lot nicer.

but this car has a clean Carfax It's never been in any accidents. It comes with these really nice. Factory two-piece Wheels with basically brand new Michelin Pilot Sports These came on like the early 2000s CLK 55 and they're all in really nice shape so that's a big bonus. And the car itself is a really cool.

like granite gray metallic I forget what they call these but it only has 88 000 miles. It was dealer maintained until about two years ago when we think the swap was done, so it still says C240 4matic. It is actually just rear-wheel drive now now and it has a Turbo K-swapped Honda engine and I think it's either a K24 or a K20. We're not 100 sure we're gonna pop the hood here in a moment and find out.

uh, it was keyed here I think we can fix that, but uh, no rust. These were very very notorious for rusting out at the bottom of the door and right along here. And this guy is in great shape so that's a big big plus. So this car is actually just a combination of me and Peter Peter's into Hondas and I'm into Mercedes and General Motors products and the transmission is out of a Chevy So this is this is like, uh, we got to come up with a name Max Came up with the mer Katies because at the you know, the K but there's just so many name possibilities.

Yes, we have a spare and it's kind of flat. Okay, we don't want a flat spare. All right, let's see where we're at here and we're at 24 PSI So the spare is actually supposed to be at 61 PSI But luckily we have our X8 Apex Portable Tire Inflator by Fantic. I'm gonna pump this right up, inflate to 60 PSI 61 PSI Make up your mind Mercedes All right, we are done and here's everything we brought on the airplane.

We brought the Sonic tool bag of course and just a whole slew of miscellaneous tools, lights, and an extra fuel pump. and uh, hose and zip ties of course. So hopefully we don't have to use any of this, but we never leave on one of these crazy car rescue missions without our portable tire inflator from Fantic. I've been using these now for over two years.

They're in both of our daily drivers and a bunch of our other cars. A lot of our family members have these. It can mean the difference between being stranded in the middle of nowhere and just filling up your tire and moving on to the closest service station. So an excellent item to keep in your glove box or in your trunk.

Uh, so with that, let's open up the hood and see what kind of engine we're dealing with I don't know if this is actually connected anymore. Okay I think that did something All right Here we go here we go: Honda engine and a Mercedes This is crazy bad hood shocks of course I always get cars with bad hood shocks.
Luckily there's a service position. Oh baby. Okay, hold on. hold on.

We got a big piece of PVC to hold the hood up. Okay, seems safe. all right. this is it.

A uh Honda what is is this a K20 or a K24 Um, we're a little bit confused on what kind of K-series engine this is. The guy listed it with a K24 the person I bought it from didn't really know anything about this. The guy he bought it from built the car about two years ago and in the road and Track article it says it's a K20 but he says it's a K24 I Don't really know anything about Honda engines. but anyway, while Peter looks that up on the Intranet now let's take a look at what we have.

so it's also listed as having a Gt30r turbo I I Think that this is just an eBay special, an eBay knockoff of a Garrett turbo because I thought all the gear turbos said Garrett somewhere on it. Uh, so this is probably an eBay turbo. And then here is our intercooler system. What do we have going on here? Is this a water to air intercooler? No way.

That's kind of cool. So you have your heat exchanger right here and then this is the water to air intercooler. so they can be much smaller because they're more efficient and that's kind of nice. and pretty cool.

direct routing so you just have your boost pressure coming out of the turbo there, going through the intercooler and then right into our throttle body. So this could very well be a nice and efficient system. And supposedly this car has working air conditioning and it still has the factory AC condenser. Let's see, we have a little boost controller solenoid right here.

Oh my gosh! So this is normally where the cabin air filter is and now it has some kind of Honda computer I'm assuming the engine computer is just cut right in. okay and the battery's still underneath it. That's where they are from the factory. Uh, this is the factory coolant reservoir.

They have a nice Shield uh and let's see we have: Honda K Series headers Pro Series Fabrication Honda Guys let me know in the comments section if that's any good. And then there is a massive oil leak. Uh, so I knew about this I don't know what it is, the previous owner doesn't know what it is either. But anyway, we got to figure that out because we have to drive this thing 800 miles home like like right now Peter percentage chances: what are we gonna make it? Let's see you get your reliability: Yep, percentage of us getting home on Honda Reliability: 100 percentage of us being nice and comfortable in the body of a Mercedes 100 So you're giving this a 100.

We haven't even tried starting it yet I Just like the way it looks. okay judging by the looks of it. Okay Max Do you want to give us a realistic prediction? Um, I'm gonna say we have an 82 chance of making it back. Wow Honda Really has a good name I Gotta say we have a live oil leak.
We have stuff like literally cut into things and kind of hacked together and these guys are averaging like a 95 chance of making it. Well fun fact: I used to own a Honda Civic that had a B16 swap motor in it and I would go through a quart of oil every two weeks but it never broke down. Okay I like it. I'm gonna give us a 75 chance that we make it to Chicago Um, but I'm also gonna say this thing is going to break at least two times I think.

But luckily we brought. we brought a lot of stuff. All right. So this was sold to me as a running and driving car, but we have to reattach the fuel rail so the fuel rail is off.

so there's that. and then what do we got going on here? We got everything intact. We're missing a bolt here for this coil. Um, there is a spark plug though.

Oh yeah, cool. All right. So we got to reattach this fuel rail. The O-rings look good.

so I'm just going to lubricate these seals and I hope that there is not an issue here and they come with these little spacers. So we found all the hardware. All right, just threading this all in by hand. It's got a gauge here which is a nice don't know what a K24 is supposed to run at.

probably 50-ish PSI something. Okay, so I'll gently draw these in so you don't crush the O-rings All right, just going down. nice and even excellent. All right I Want to take a spark plug out? This coil was not bolted in anyway.

Okay, yes, we're working with quarter. Drive Tools here. You can't fly with anything on the plane over seven inches. so we had to bring all of our our little guys.

So many jokes are going to be in the comments. I Know I've said this before on these trips, you can only fly with seven inches. Tools of tools, people. All right.

What do we got here? NGK Iridium BK R9 E I x and this plug looks really good. Peter You gotta lick it. You're licking this one. It's always making me lick spark plugs what it tastes like.

Oh delicious, delicious. Honda Goodness yeah yeah. a little a little hint of soy. All right.

let's throw this guy back in I Just want to start it I Can't wait anymore to start this thing. We'll pull all the other plugs if we have to. but I need to know if it's gonna run because if not, we got to start looking for hotels and plane tickets and all sorts of stuff. but it's a Honda I have I have an extra amount of Faith just because of this right here.

and this beautiful yellow valve cover. All right? I'll tighten this coil down. We have all the hardware so that's good. and then there are two little spacers here for this fancy little cover.

All right, So we still have to figure out this oil leak back here. I'm thinking it's just a valve cover. We'll kind of worry about that later. I Really, just want to hear this thing run all right.
Let's check this oil. Please have a good amount of oil. Please have oil. All right.

It's not brand new, but it's got oil. Awesome. All right guys, get your calculator out! I Think we have quite a bit of money worth of Parts sitting here. So the K-swap engine if this is a totally stock K24 is about a thousand dollars.

The intake manifold and throttle body 675 with the regulator railing injectors. we have about 500 worth of fuel stuff. The turbo is 640 dollars. The turbo manifold is about 400.

This Hondata computer with the Flash and harness is around a thousand dollars without the cost of the screen in there. so we'll see what that looks like once we fire it up. I Couldn't find any info on the watered air intercooler system, but I would say that's about six hundred dollars worth of stuff. There has to be an electric pump hiding somewhere as well for that.

So then of course we have the downpipe and all of the exhaust, which is not the best. Check this out. So the exhaust system is definitely a parts store special. It still has some of the stickers uh, it is three inch it looks like.

so they went to town with the exhaust so there's that. And then we have the 6B manual transmission out of a 2011 and up. Chevy Colorado That's got to be pricey at probably at least a thousand dollars. We of course have the wheels and tires, which could add up to about 1400 bucks something like that on the second hand market for these, you know.

and then plus a clean title. 88 000 mile. C240 So I think we did okay at six thousand dollars unless this thing doesn't fire up. which we're gonna try to do right now.

All right. Door locks work. This screen is so so ghetto. Oh man.

this clutch feels so bad. that's not good. All right. Clutch in.

uh, let's see. Okay, nothing all right. It's not starting. Oh, but there is a button right here.

This is. Oh there we go. Power tune, digital. Uh, all right.

all like, basically all the way down. I Don't know if there's a return spring issue or what. I Don't like the I Don't like the feel of the clutch. Um, but it has power steering.

Okay, I'm hoping they don't have the oil temp and oil pressure connected because it reads zero. It's also reading five next to boost. Yeah, that's odd. Uh, let's see Lambda's not doing anything.

Hopefully the water temperature works. Okay man. I Hope this thing goes into gear. What is the shifter out of this looks very, very familiar.
It sounds good though. it sounds really good. Honda K swap Mercedes This is insane. They just kind of hacked a little tailpipe in there.

That's okay I don't care I don't care about all the Hacked up stuff. especially if we make it home then I Really don't care I'll care if we don't make it home. How does it sound under here? Great. Like a tractor? That sounds great.

It sounds good. It sounds real good percentage chances now 100 Okay, this is very quiet. It's nice. Yeah, it's on.

Wow. I mean like there's no ticking? No nothing. No rod knock? That's nice. What's fuel pressure at? Okay, we're at like 55-ish on the fuel pressure gauge.

That's pretty normal for a modern engine. Oh yeah, I get what you mean. It has got a little tractory. You know? whatever.

Uh, all right. Oh, you know what. let's pop this up. See the turbo spinning? All right? All right.

let's take this off. It's Your Spinach you spoon All right? There you go, little buddy. Let's see if you got any shaft to play. It's sometimes normal to feel a little bit of shaft play when it's not running because there's no oil pressure in there.

But wow, we're good. There's no play whatsoever. This thing is ready to make boost. Big Boost baby my big boosted Honda I've never had a Honda before in my life.

This is a first boy. Do I own a Honda What do I own? It's a transition car. it is right? Yeah, your Segway into Honda ownership. Okay, all right, I'll take it where my Honda guy's at.

By the way, is there anyone out there that's been watching my channel on any kind of regular basis that's a Honda guy? I've always been kind of curious to that except for Max he's raising his hand. He's apparently a Honda guy even though he drives a Subaru but you know I want to see will this start without pushing the clutch in? Yeah, you don't have to push the clutch in. Okay, wow. I don't know if no clutch even I got my I got the clutch pushed all the way in waiting unless that's it.

Yeah, I'm not doing anything to pump it a little. Maybe Okay I mean am I in here right now? Come on, watch out. I mean I can't even let out of the clutch. It just stays down there.

Yeah, my foot's all the way off the clutch. It's not doing anything. Oh man, so this is what I'm talking about. It just kind of stays down there and there's a spring right here, but it'll pop up if I I have to pull it.

Oh wait, no, it's kind of working. Oh, it's kind of working. Okay, okay, Oh there it is that went in. It's like I gotta Pump It Okay, thank you.

you're making it home people. What's your percentage at now? it's still the same because really, we don't need this clutch. we don't need you. like as an issue with disengaging and engaging, we can still get it home and it'll start without the you can start it in gear right? We can start it in gear so we're solid there.
So yeah. cool. If this was just nicely done, this is this is pretty neat. Yeah, you're good.

You're good Service position: Works sort of I Totally forgot about the hood but we are going to take a look at underneath the car and yeah, that never happened. All right what are we gonna find under here? Peter Let's see a little bit of crust. a little bit it is. New Jersey After all.

um okay so what is going on here? This is the factory Mercedes subframe but they have welded. Uh This Bar on here. Where's stock? Yeah, it's quite low and that's what's holding. Yeah, it's very low.

It's a skid plate or something. Yeah, so that's what's holding our engine in, right? Yeah, Yeah! So here you can see they built the pedestals from this Square stock I Guess And here is the other side. Are we missing bolts? Oh no no, this is the high enough. Oh yeah, so you can raise and lower the engine I Guess it's on the higher setting right now.

Um, here is the factory rack and Pinion I believe And it does have a little bit of a leak. They had to build this stuff here to fit that in there. and yeah, we got. We definitely got some leaks going on.

Here is our six-speed manual transmission with a funky clutch. The transmission's welded like the what do you mean the Transmissions welded like the bell housing. So it's got an adapter plate. So we're not exactly sure why they welded this transmission.

It could have been to shorten it up. Maybe I Was thinking maybe they cut the Honda bell housing off and then welded it to the Colorado transmission. but then in that case, they wouldn't need this little adapter plate. So I'm not really.

sure. Um, yeah, but anyway, it seems to work. We just got to figure out the clutch issue. I Don't know if we can bleed the clutch out.

We'll see if it's even an issue and then we'll have to figure that out once we get back to legit three quarters. But here is the exhaust. The gigantic exhaust that they welded together. I Mean it works right? There's no leaks.

They use the factory fan shroud, but they stuck a big fan in the middle of it. They attached it in some kind of weird Banner with foam with spray foam stuff. Dude, did they tough stuff the fan in like welding, but from Home Depot I Got to give it up to them. Man, that is very creative.

Here's the wastegate dump tube. Oh and there's our right Yeah yeah. right there. Where Peter's pointing is the pump for the intercooler system and it does have an AC compressor.

Look at that with the belt on it. It might work. So we brought our wrenches, but we had to bring stubbies because the other ones are more than seven inches. So here's our 17 and then some of the smaller wrenches are right under seven.

So we got to do one of these guys. Okay, that was planned so we are going to change the oil on this car. I actually had some oil shipped out there. we go and uh yeah, we gotta go 800 miles and the previous owner of the car that's had it for two years.
he basically knew nothing or he wasn't saying anything about the car like we got. Really not a lot of information. Really nice guy. but yeah I don't know how old the oil is so we're gonna just swap it out.

It is very black I didn't do it. This is a sin to own a Honda engine Mercedes I don't even know. Is that police or the ambulance? All right if this came, if this car came to you at the dealership just like this for an oil change, what would you do I would service it I Honestly, it won't be funny I wouldn't even say anything and then the guy would just bring it in I Would maintain this thing for years at the dealership without anyone ever knowing. but Peter you know we're bringing this to Mercedes in like another video we're bringing this two.

Mercedes We'll see if we can get some secret cameras hidden cameras set up I Want to see what the Mercedes-Benz dealer will think about this and we should bring it to CarMax That'll be like one video. We should bring it to a Honda dealership and a Honda dealership. That's right. Carmax Honda Mercedes one video.

There are so many nickname possibilities it's ridiculous. This is actually a C240 and we're running a 2.4 liter engine and the Mercedes that had superchargers would say compressor spelled with AK and although this doesn't have a supercharger, this does have an air compressing device called a turbo charger so it's close enough. So so many options here. but I do like Mercedes Mercedes compressor C240 Mercedes compressor.
It could be like a Ck24 Ck24. That sounds cool, but we need like a real nickname. Like a robot. Yeah, it's like R2D2 All right Joe just had a good one.

It's a K240. it's a K2 40. that's the number. It's a Mercedes K240.

Very floaty and the front of this thing is like lifted up. Probably because the engine weighs a lot less than the V6 that it replaced. Is this like a squatted? It's a squatted Mercedes that was like a quarter throttle. It just spools up and kicks in like crazy.

Oh man. I'm letting her warm up a little. What? let's see: water temperature: 111. this boost thing has just gone crazy.

Battery's good. Heated seat works. is your heated seats? Yeah? Yeah. I'm getting toasty.

Zero oil. Yeah. Zero oil pressure. I Mean who needs it right? Okay, so this never came in a manual option.

Yes, they did have a manual for this model. not for a C240 but the C230 compressor was The Supercharged four-cylinder So this had a boosted four-cylinder Not this particular car, but this chassis 203 Mercedes did have a a boosted four-cylinder Was it any good? Yeah, it was just me. So can we put one of our W203s? Yeah, this is a W. Yeah.

Would we do that Or do we do a K20 We might have to get some. Honda Stickers Yes, we'll make it faster. All right. First Drive: I Liked it I Liked it.

We're just making a little pit stop here. It's great. It's a Honda It's like driving a Civic but nicer. It's like a Civic with a nice interior.

Made a luxury car. This would be it. like an Acura Man, they weren't kidding. It's got a vibration.

This is not a Good Vibration Max Which at the end of the day, what is really a vibration right? right? tighter tolerances I was a little Full Throttle Yeah dude, this thing is fast foreign. That's right. You should offer a um, it's like a go-kart It's like a super floating. Yeah, yeah, this is very flow.
Look at this. I Forgot about how much power we have. Dude, this is fun. Man would you consider it a legit street car? This is a legit three car.

You guys smell that? Nope. Is that clutch? or is that oil? um smells? I Can't smell anything like how many miles will uh, will Tripoli give us I think I have 200 either 100 or 200 miles of free towing with AAA Well, let's only beat on it for the last 100 or 200 miles. That makes sense Peter I Also have AAA do they add our cards together? You can't You can't do that. Yeah, we'll just have the 200 guy 200 mile tow truck driver drop us off and then we just call on yours.

Yeah, we don't even have to drive. Really, this whole trip we'll just be on pretty boys dime. Yeah, Peter you should get Trip Away Then we got 600 miles. All right, we're uh, we're at the auto parts store.

Uh, we're smelling. We're smelling a lot of stuff going on here and we gotta pop the hood and figure this out. I Say this turbo works really well. It's it's still spooling down.

Um yeah. I mean we're just smelling a lot. There is a pool of oil here I Think it's coming from the valve cover I Hope it is. That would be the most obvious thing.

So yeah, we're gonna do this right now because it is really just burning up on there and smelling horrible in the car. That's not good for our lungs. All right. We got our valve cover, gasket, and the grommets and a three pack of vice grips.

How much were those? 24.99 Is that safe? Okay, that's safe. So yeah, there is no blow-off valve on this car. Nothing kind of weird. I Kind of wanted to hear the little All right Here We go here.

We go. All right. let's take this little cover off. What does this say on here? K Tuned the company.

Yep. K Tuned all right. I'll take these coils off now. We also get to take a look at the condition of the camshafts.

Let's look at this valve cover off so that'll be fun. although I just don't suspect any issues like at all. This thing could have 300 000 miles on it for all we know. still runs like a top like the Honda Coils go bad like coils on everything go bad.

but I bet you Hondas don't. This is a really nice harness by the way. Whoa. Okay, that's held down by like two threads.

Weird, all right. I Think those are all the nuts and we're gonna get some brake clean too and clean everything up that way. By the time we totally make it to 800 miles back home, we'll be able to see if we fix the leak because there's oil everywhere back there. it's coming off.

We just gotta get these little grommets. Don't want to lose any of this stuff we got. Well, we got new ones. All right.

All right, whatever's coming off. All right. All right here we go. What do these cams look like? I Gotta say, there is some weird discoloration on these cams.
It almost looks like it was rusted at some point. Like these cams. Maybe we're sitting around for a while. You can feel it with your finger a little, but you know what? I Think this means we're gonna have to get Type S cams.

Oh, is that what that means? All right. Super high lift ones. Okay, well wait. will that.

Will that make it kind of like chop a little if we disable the V-tuck yeah, or permanently lock it into VTEC Yeah, then we'll chop it low end. Okay, then in that case, these cans are toast. They gotta go. We need new cams.

I don't even know if we're gonna make up these cams? Yeah. I wonder if they have type S cams at the local auto parts store? This is the corner we were getting the oil leak and I think that's what's causing this puddle right here. So we'll get a new valve cover gasket on there. Hopefully that fixes it.

But yeah, I mean the engine sounds really, really nice. I don't suspect any issues with this whatsoever. and check it out. A lot of the Honda four cylinders have timing belt set you have to replace every once in A while, but this K24 is definitely one of the most legendary Honda engines.

It comes with a timing chain, so there's really essentially no maintenance on this engine. They are. Rock Solid All right, let's clean up all this oil here, get our new gasket on, and hit the road. It is late at this point.

we won't make it back until like one o'clock in the morning if we don't have any other issues. Somehow some way the Mercedes part of this car which isn't anything related to the drivetrain anymore. we'll find a way to take us down. It will break.

Let's get rid of this failed gasket. Probably not a Honda part. I Feel crusty? No, it's really not that bad. Honestly.

Uh yeah. I don't know. This might not be the problem. These little guys aren't coming out so we're gonna leave them.

There's no leak from here. We'll just do the main gasket because we're on the road. We don't need any issues. So it's December right now and we're in.

New Jersey and it is like 55 degrees and beautiful. This is insane. We got very lucky I see a little bit of sweat on your brow I'm working hard Peter what do you got going on? I'm struggling to put the straw in the break. Thank you, thank you Peter for your assistance.

All right. So we'll get our Blue Seal in like so and if you're wondering. We went in and said we had a 2005 Honda Accord that's one of the cars that had this engine in there and of course he asked me two-door or four-door I said four-door because it is. Is it a four-door But the two-door record's actually kind of cool I think I'm gonna say that from now on.

but why does it matter if it's got a two-door or a four-door It doesn't. What if the motor be the same? Yep, that's the auto parts store for you. They ask you the same thing for wipers, four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
All right, we're gonna put a little bit of the RTV in these. Corners You can see there was some there so we want these really clean. The smallest hole ever. All right, it's good.

A little over Yonder too. A little bit goes a long way. okay. Peter you want to do the honors? Oh gosh, whoa, you blew up the butt.

Oh okay. I blew out the back of the let's use that. All right. I'm strong like blue yellow Honda Valve cover coming down so easy I Gotta say, this is so easy to work on.

I mean any converted. any little four-cylinder is not converted. Yes, how easy was the stock motor on this car to work on? It's actually pretty easy too. The M112 that was in this was a great engine.

It really didn't need anything. Coils would go bad, valve cover, gaskets would leak. That's about it. So it is two o'clock in the afternoon.

Right now. we are definitely leaving late and so if nothing else happens, it's going to take us about 12 hours to drive. We'll get home at two o'clock in the morning. So in other words, we're gonna get home at five o'clock in the morning on a good day.

They had to have had this valve cover off kind of recently. It's a powder coated it yellow. They actually did a really good job. See, there's like no threads in here.

so once I add this guy on here, it's very difficult to get the nut on. Sure it worked. Ah okay. we had to jam some paper in the socket to push the nut down.

It's one of those kind of like you had to be here type type of things. How you feeling Alex working on the Hyundai Honda it's on a Hyundai Honda it's the Honda power yo that's so cool. Yeah is like it's the awesomest. It's super cool.

Oh yeah, we did this. Yeah, which in English means cylinder. the more you know the more you know. Thank you Peter I Decided I needed to do something.

So we're gonna soak up this oil here if this is totally dry after we've driven her for a while, that is our big indication that we've fixed our oil leak and we're gonna dry it up right now. This is a very nice little catch.

Basin for oil though. I Like it all right guys. Remember what that looks like. We'll check it once we get some fuel in a little bit, see if we fix anything.

821 miles to go and it's saying we'll get there at 2 36 in the morning. Great. Nothing else is going to happen. All right, All right.

we're getting on, getting on the highway and there's a ton of traffic. Great because we got it all day here. You pass paid, we're getting on the highway people. Oh the handling is so bad GT Car right? like yeah oh this is so bad it needs like studied Springs and sway bars it is.
It's not good. Uh, we are in fourth gear by the way people. I've kind of forgotten about steam out. If the transmission works, it just works.

It gets into boost like right away. That is really nice. All right. let's see.

Wow, where is fifth? That can't be fifth all the way over here and up. Now it reverses down. So like here, this is third. That's third.

That's four. Yeah, okay, it's just the shifter will go like all the way over. Oh there we go. they're six.

Oh RPM that's wow. Look at this that is 63 miles per hour at about 2 000. RPM This thing should get phenomenal fuel mileage. and look at this It's got a race mode.

whatever in the world that is. Um, and let's see. let's see if the boost gauge does anything. It's just kind of.

There's no way we're at five and here now. I'm off the throttle completely. We're at three. We should be at vacuum right now.

I Don't know. That's kind of weird. It's cool though that this will show Lambda So the air fuel ratio. we just have to get a sensor for it I'm assuming that's missing or that's faulty.

Sounds so good. How's that now? Waking him up? Oh there he is I heard the turbo I Want to see if the AC works? Oh yeah, you can tell it's got AC Hopefully it's got heat too. because it is. December it's turning hot now.

he knows everything about pools and water and chemicals for the pool. look at those broken BMWs they're so unreliable. they're so unreliable I don't know why people drive European cars when they can drive Hondas these brakes feel normal driving around town but they are bad. like we just hit a bunch of traffic and I kind of had to hit him a little bit and they are not good at slowing this car down.
oh that had was that how the court guy just honking at me I think he was I would really prefer to just stay on the highway. this traffic is no good and we look at this it is. Honda Fest Right now it is a Honda Christmas winter special. What is the what's the Honda commercial with all the winter sale? That's like Honda holidays or something? It's Honda days around here I Really should not be beating on this thing at all. All right 100 miles away. This is so easy to beat on. the trans though is a little notchy I Don't know I don't know it's an Eaton trans.

It's pretty popular. Six Feet I Guess maybe something needs to be known about this little shifter situation? I'm not sure. Wait, is that an adrenaline? No way. that's an adrenaline.

You never see those. It's a sport track. adrenaline. very rare.

kind of cool. That thing looks sweet I like Ford trucks I mean I got mine lighting. That's a really cool truck and look mint s I'm waking you up with Boost either. Yeah, a lot of this rattling is that right there? See, we're fixing things as we go.

It's not even that bad now. I Just hold this dude. We're gonna have to do something about this anyway. Get some kind of better leather boot system.

But uh yeah, you can fix this. We have the technology Welcome to Pennsylvania Okay, I'm gonna do that again. That was in third gear I Florida And all of a sudden it just revved up like crazy like it slipped through the clutch. We might have clutch problems soon.

Add to the list. Foreign? Yeah, yeah. this clutch is. Uh, this clutch is not good.

We're blowing right through it. All right. All right, No more. Full Throttle For now, if we get back to the shop when we're closer, we'll go beat it up a little bit more.

I Mean the clutch is bad. The clutch is bad. I Have to replace it Anyway, All right. check it out.

I Noticed it's got the three little dots there. we might be able to swipe. Maybe swipe. It's got three little dots.

Whoa. Whoa. What did I just do? All sorts of stuff are coming up as I tap on things. Oh wow.

it's got like a tack trigger Warning: That's cool. Oh there we go. look at that. That is so cool.

Okay, so now it's reading zero kPa of boost. Um, let's get into a little boost and um, and it's not going into vacuum so something's wrong there with the calibration this. wow, this is crazy. This would be a lot of fun to play around with.

I think I'm definitely going to leave it on this. I Can see the speedo a little bit better. This clutch is rough. It's getting really hard to put it into gear.

Oh yeah, it is slipping really bad. I mean I'm not even like I'm not even pressing the accelerator pedal down anymore. It's just catching a little bit of boost. Oh man.

okay. maybe get into sixth. Go in. that's four.
Let's see if we get fifth. Wow. Okay, a fourth gear is working. We can make it home and fourth? Really not.

I Really don't want to, but might have to. All right, let's try sixth again. Oh man. I'm in I'm in sixth gear.

Okay, we do have to get gas soon. Which state? Oh man, this is. uh yeah. we're 714 miles away and the clutch is slipping like really bad.

This is not all right. Well, for some reason our odometer is now in the negatives and uh, the engine runs very very cold I don't even know if it has the thermostat in it. The heat still works fine. but uh yeah, that's not normal.

It should be closer to like 190. we're getting off for guess. Handling is horrible I cannot put it into gear right now. Oh okay.

we got third. It's very selective on which gears. It's okay with working. these are Lisa first.

Oh, we do that at first. Oh, there's first. Okay, this is getting very very sketchy. Our sunlight is going away.

Oh do we have headlights? Hey, we have a headlights. We have a headlight all right. wider on in. Oh my.

God this guy was driving so slow. We ain't got no clutch for this. All right. let's see.

Oh, we got into second if I pull the clutch up with my foot. it seems to work better I don't know if it's like building up more pressure in the Hydraulics or something. There we go. That's nice.

Okay I think that's the trick that might that might save us maybe I don't have the brakes for this I don't have the clutch for this. All right. The time for this. This is not cool.

Seriously, 695 miles to go and we get stuck at bumper to bumper traffic if you guys saw the van video when we drove back from North Dakota about the same distance 800 miles. The transmission on the van was bad. we made it and then it went out a hundred miles later like completely out not moving anymore. So we got very lucky and I am hoping we still have some of the Luck of the Irish with us today.

I'm part Irish I'm like 11. so I have 11 luck all right. So now it's up to 171. this is really heating up quickly now that we're not moving.

Oh man, I bet you that fan doesn't work. That is all we need is an overheating engine. Also, hey now we're dropping 10 degrees all of a sudden on the coolant. like almost what? I don't know, who knows.

This is also telling me we're a negative odometer land. so we've gone back to the future or the past with odometers. We got Arby's I haven't had Arby's in I think like 12 years professional drivers Peter you're up next. See what you can do again the truck driver of Transit see what I can do with this All right? I moved to the back seat.

Now we got some snacks. This is not good for you, but we're on vacation and uh yeah it is. Pitch Black outside Peter's driving What do you think? Peter I love it I love it so much Max is editing he can't hear a word we're saying. Not a word, not a word so we can talk all sorts of junk about.
Max and look at that. we only have 10 and a half hours left. It's as if we haven't gone anywhere today at all. Like our flight came in at 9 00 a.m What time is it right now? 606.

it is now 606. I have no idea where the time has gone. This is insane. We hung out with Joe for a little while at his house, ate some New Jersey Bagels which worked delicious um and then worked on the car a little bit.

but I I don't know I don't know, but we're not gonna get home like basically we're never getting home at this point. Where what it is now is, we're going to work for tomorrow morning. Yes, wait, did that just go from 10 and a half to nine hours and 57 minutes? Uh yeah, now it's 304. before it was like 3 30.

Oh wow, wow, that doesn't really make any sense. We might have hit like a tear in the time space continuum, but I'll take it all right guys. we've gone. Uh I don't know.

350 more miles. We're here to get gas, but we're definitely smelling oil. Lots and lots of oil burning type of smell that is not good. Still running really good.

Engine sounds good. No ticking or any weird stuff. Hey, uh yeah, still runs great. We got here.

Oh yeah, I'd say our oil leak is fixed. At least one oil leak is fixed. that? that's good. And maybe we do have a tiny exhaust leak from these horrible welds, but no big deal.

Wow, look at how close that fitting is right there to the belt. I Don't know. We definitely smelled oil though. God There's so many little things to be cleaned up.

like look at that hose with this shielding that's just not that good with Jagged edges there I Think the valve cover leak was most of the engine oil leak because it's here at the back of the trans and they're gone now. Come on, we got. are we burning? No, we're good. If anything were kind of overfilled a little bit.

I put five quarts in here Peter said it took five I don't know if we took five? Yeah, that is. Uh, that's overfilled. Okay, it's okay. All right, we just put 14.8 gallons in.

Let's calculate some fuel mileage. I Gotta say I'm not really that impressed. We went 358 miles on 14.8 gallons 24 MPG that is less than I got in the blue WS6 Trans Am Driving that home about 12 hours and that was a modified Big LS1 V8 also with a six-speed manual transmission and I was kind of beating it up a little bit too. Having some fun.

We've been babying this thing because of the clutch. It doesn't smell like it's running rich, but this is no good. I Thought we would definitely be in the mid 30 mpg range at least, so we'll have to look into that. That is not impressive.

All right, we got 45 miles to go. we're gonna make it to my house at two o'clock Um Mercedes Whatever this is and it is raining. This is the only inclement weather that we run into. I'm okay with that because it's December it could have snowed in Jersey and all the way here to Chicago We've gotten very, very very lucky during this entire trip so we are soon going to be at my house and then uh yeah, we'll uh, we'll go beat on this thing by the shop Chicago We made it I Definitely think this is one of the best skylines worldwide.
Seriously, it's a beautiful city people. I Know Chicago's got quite a bad reputation, especially over the last few years. It definitely has a lot of problems, but it is a beautiful city downtown to clean a lot of cool things to see. We're up here I Like it just need to get a little bit less crying.

Really. We got good pizza because all right, We made it back to my house. It is two o'clock in the morning and just got a little casualty right here with this light. Uh, this whole bumper is sagging down.

We gotta pull this Fender out a little bit. Not a big fan of these aftermarket eBay headlights. We still have all of our blinker fluid in here. Oh yeah, this thing is filled with water and uh, this bumper is a little beat up.

but I really like the C230 compressor sport bumpers. Uh, the front and rear bumpers and side skirts were different so we can get those for dirt cheap and put them on here. So yeah, plans already, but we made it 800 miles back to the original. Legit Street quarters and it it's great.

and I don't even think the clutch is bad I think it's just something to do with the pedal. It's like in a weird halfway position. So anyway, um, tomorrow, after some sleep, we're gonna go beat on this thing. So that will be the next scene for you guys.

So it's the next. Dave Actually, it's the same day, right? It's a few hours later, a few hours later, we're very well rested and uh, we're about to go for a rip in this thing, but it's doing some weird cut like it's not the clutch or anything. I think the clutch is actually fine I think it's just a travel issue where the clutch was still pushed in. it's not popping back up.

Uh, so that's why it was slipping I think I Think it's fine though. So we got to start by fixing the clutch pedal issue. but now we have a new thing where it's just kind of cutting out completely. which is weird.

We are low on fuel. Yeah, we're pretty low on fuel and the gauge is accurate and this has like a 340 Aeromotive pump. It's a gigantic pump with a thousand CC injectors so it could be a fuel cut. Let's go get some gas.

Oh but first we got an error to run. We gotta drop off some SVT Lightning cylinder heads and our manly connecting rods to the machine shop. So this is a parts running truck I Guess right now all right now. big time even at like a throttle.

so hopefully gas fixes it. Let's fix things for us in the past. So yes it has fixed things for us in the past. Oh, you guys want to see something else that broke aside from this right here.
these brakes are totally shot. I was like man, these brakes are horrible and that's because there isn't any break left. Look at the pad. it's like at zero percent grinding right into the rotors.

Which is fine because C55 Brembos Direct Bolt-on on this car. all right. Got a little bit of fuel not going to fill up because we might try pretty E85 in this thing. All right.

we should know pretty quick if we fixed it, you fixed it. I Gotta say it's we got to mess with this clutch. It's hard to shift it. so like I can't power shift or anything even remotely close to that.

That's it. The second gear rip. no slipping either. Yeah no.

I mean I think the clutch is totally fine. Uh, we can't really run this thing that low on gas. It's possible they had to modify the fuel sump to fit the bigger pump or something like that, so that's okay. That's got a kind of a normal thing race car thing and while driving back we found who we think built this car and he posted up some dino videos 402 wheel horsepower and the car sounds ridiculous on the dyno laughs.

oh man, this thing rips. oh that smells good. foreign clutch before it was really the break so those need to be replaced. Luckily we are in a closed course right now.

In: Mexico in Mexico I mean it's very responsive. all we need is a little yeah yeah, we gotta put a blob valve on it I'm so excited All right guys, that will do it for this video.
