I Hope so I Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than hanging out with you guys and filling a supercharged van up with food. Anyway, with that, let's get into the video. Well, this is it. My last few days owning a naturally aspirated 15 passenger van I'm 38 years old and this will forever be a marker in my life.

There will now just be the days before I owned a boosted 15 passenger van and the days after. From now on, my life and the life of 14 other passengers at a time will never be the same. The adventure all started in North Dakota after buying my 200 000 mile Chevy Express for only four thousand dollars. The van had a transmission that sounded like a cow mooing, but it was good enough to make it back home to Chicago where I Took the transmission apart and discovered a fried clutch pack that sent clutch material everywhere I Flushed out all the disgusting transmission fluid from the lines and coolers and treated my van to a fully built 6l90e transmission and a Billet torque converter.

In preparation for this, a D1se Pro Charger. This centrifugal supercharger is capable of producing over 800 horsepower and it's capable of making some of the best supercharger sounds you've ever heard. The transformation you never knew you wanted to see is about to begin, so grab that cold pop, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. All right ladies and gentlemen fellows and fellets.

This is a D1se inner cooled ProCharger kit and this is my Chevy Express 3500 with the optional triple ceramic primer tri-coat and the goal here is to install everything on this table into this van. And let me show you guys just one of the reasons why I Went with a Pro charger. Listen to that glorious supercharger noise. That's what I want at idle with my van.

Although the van's gonna sound a little bit different because I went with helical cut gears. Those are old straight cut gears that blowers like 20 something years old But either way, I'm keeping the patina on the van with all the missing paints and so at a red light, it's just gonna be sitting there whistling away with that classic pro charger sound. and I just I Just can't wait for that. All right.

We have a ton of work to do. This whole table has to be installed in the van and we have a really nice instruction guide so they don't actually make a kit for a Chevy Express van. actually. let's let's go ahead and use the Eclipse here as our table for the instructions.

The kits and the instructions are designed so just about anybody can install one of these. So just glancing over one through five, it looks like we need to disconnect the battery and remove part of the air intake. Let's do it well. Not only do we need to disconnect the battery, well, we need to vacuum some of some of this it's from North Dakota It's not from here, All right.

We're gonna go ahead and remove this battery as well just to be able to clean better. All right. We still need to do a little bit of detail work here, but that is much better. I'm gonna move the coolant reservoir just out of our way.

Foreign. Oh look at this. We have room. We're gonna remove the air intake now, so just loosen up the clamp at the throttle body.

We're gonna be removing the Vortec intake. Oh no. Big big ugly chunk. All we need though is the mass airflow sensor out of this guy.

We'll do that later. Next, we have to remove the belt. But I'm going to remove this gigantic fan shroud. because we're gonna.

We're gonna go with some electric fans. Look at. Look at this. Look at how much room this takes up there.

We go put it out of the way. Okay, this is the world's largest upper radiator hose. I Kind of Tuck that over here for now now. shroud.

How do you come out? Looks like there's an upper and a lower piece of this fan shroud. Uh, it's kind of like a clam shell so we'll take these out see what happens here. Oh is this going to give us all the room in the world or what? Got some stuff in the way? But I think we can shimmy this out foreign? Get out of here. Oh yes.

Oh yeah. I'm sorry buddy. you do a great job at directing air. but yeah, it's too ugly.

Wow. Okay, we need this. We'll save these guys and hopefully I can find an electric fan option that only sticks out about here. We gotta get rid of this ugly thing too.

There's just two 10 millimeters for the bottom part of the fan shroud, so we're gonna go ahead and loosen those up. Might might take a little while though, so go ahead and remove these. so we can get the whole fan shroud out. I Don't have a special tool to remove this fan, but that's okay because I got this guy so we're just going to hold the water pump pulley like so.

and because this van's not rusted, we should be able. Oh wow, yeah, that was way too loose. Actually, all right, that's coming right off. Sweet.

All right. So now we can just spin this guy off and a little trick here is some of these can be reverse thread, so if you're not sure, always loosen it in the same direction that the fan needs to go to function. so you can see the air is scooping in and it would be sucking through the radiator. So that's the way we need to turn it to take it off.

and there we go. Easiest fan clutch ever to replace. that was. that was crazy.

I Was expecting it to fight me, but it didn't Because the van loves me. It takes care of me. Now we can easily remove the lower portion of the fan shroud. Like, so removing the fan shroud is going to make it so much easier to work on the van, but not as easy as it is to click that subscribe button.

Are you kidding me? Look at the amount of room we have. We could fit like three superchargers in here. There's too much room. I Cannot wait to get an electric fan.

Guys, let me know in the comment section what is an easy option for an electric fan? I'm thinking if any of the pickup trucks had them, that they might just bolt right in and then I'll have to do my own wiring I Don't know, but plenty of room for activities though. Next, we're going to remove the serpentine belt and we will not be using this one again. As you can imagine, we need a different size. The next few steps have to do with removing a tray and relocating the ECU but I don't think we need to do that on the van.

The ECU looks to already be out of the way on the fender. Uh, we do have this fuse box right here. I'm not sure if that's going to get in the way, but uh, let's move on. We'll see.

We'll see what happens. Next step is to drill the front of the crankshaft so that we can pin it. So this is a very necessary part of the installation, but we're actually going to skip it right now. We're going to do it.

in the next video for sure. But right now because this kit was designed for a pickup truck and this is the van I Need to get the actual kit on. That is my main goal because we are on a time crunch with this van. It's got to be ready for the big meat.

So I need to get everything on there because we may run into issues and I need to start working through those issues now. But right now we just got to get the kit on here and spinning to make sure everything clears. Now we have to remove this pulley from the ProCharger bracket. I'm gonna assume this goes back on later, but in the instructions say to remove it for now and I do as the instructions say.

This is such a nice piece. And next, we have to remove five bolts. two from the alternator and three from the bracket. I Don't believe we need these bolts any longer.

Think we got new ones? Yep, new bolts and spacers. We get to attach this now. All right, this guy's gonna go somewhere like this I believe. And there's longer bolts for the bottom.

so I'm gonna get the spacer in there we go. So it is really long. That is super super long. Okay, okay, started.

Okay, you know what? Let's just get all these in there now. like so one on the bottom too. I Cannot believe this gigantic bracket is going on my van right now that holds a big supercharger. It's so crazy.

Before we finish the install of that bracket, it wants me to install the new supercharger belt and this is a six red. So I don't have to change any of the accessories and stuff like that, which is one of the many other advantages to running the pro charger. There's guys running like 800 850 horsepower and a six rib belt. It's kind of cool.

This is a way way bigger belt than before and we have a way way bigger accessory we're adding. This has got to be the biggest belt I've ever installed. and it says Loosely installed this belt because we're missing a few things. mainly a supercharger.

Okay, I don't think I'm supposed to fully install tighten this up just yet because we need to slide the belt in here. There we go. Okay, this is why it's helping me put the belt in kind of before we start tightening everything up. So we get it under there, over the factory tensioner around the crank over the water pump and we'll go under the power steering pulley like that.

All right. Cool. So this is Loosely installed, waiting for a Supercharger and us to install the other pulley again and this radiator hose won't always be there I Think we do need to figure something out with this upper radiator hose, but uh yeah, we'll cross that path shortly. Now we have a couple more bolts for the top side so we'll fit these spacers in.

These are going to be our new alternator bolts. One more on this side. A couple little clicks click. All right.

that's good lower time. Guess what? The next step in the instructions is okay. it's got an oil simmer down Alex Okay, Tag must face up for proper oiling. So we do have to put oil in this guy.

but right now it wants us to uh to install it I Think we're gonna have a lot of stuff get in the way here. Um, so we're just gonna have to deal with that and keep moving forward. Should go in. like so yeah, something like that.

We have this line here that's running into it, but right now the pulley won't even spin because of this power steering line right here. We got to do something with that. sorry Pro charger must come out again I Know I know I want you in there too I'm going to start off by sucking the fluid out of this Reservoir Okay, we're gonna remove this Reservoir All right. So I Think what we're going to do is we're just going to run this hose behind here.

I've already bent this too. This used to stick out about right here so that that should be all we need. Okay, we'll slide this clamp down a bit. Get down there Boy.

Oh, this has never been off before. Don't you know? the van lived most of its life in North Dakota and Minnesota So whenever I'm working on it for some reason that that kind of comes out, don't you know? that's really all I know a and don't you know what are some other Minnesota North Dakota phrases that I should know. This hose is so on there. This does not need a clamp at all.

This is crazy. Oh that's a good sound right there. Yeah, there we go. How much loot are we gonna lose? Okay, it's gonna be some ah no stop stop losing fluid.

Hang on. Hang on. I'm making a mess now. we won't get it all over our Pretty Dirty engine.

All right I think I'm gonna have to get low on this hose right here. I'm gonna go all the way down. Catch on the flip side little buddy. it's a very Stout strong North Dakota type of Hose right here to Hose Has been working long days on the farm and it doesn't want to be moved from its home.

I've been in that location all my life. Boy trust me. Farm Hose You want to be over here. You don't know what's best for me.

Boy, it's not going to reach I Have no idea. I ain't going nowhere. Now the big question Is this going to reach our desired location? There's that. I Still gotta get the clamp on.

Now we're putting a traditional style clamp back on. Okay, now is this going to reach? Probably not. Oh, come on baby, what's up? Hey, it's gonna reach. We need just a little bit of a long, like an inch.

That's all we need. But that's fine. as long as we can fit the blower on. Like I said, there's lots of little things that we're going to need to figure out here.

This is just one of them. So I'm gonna have to order up a slightly longer hose. Let's test the blower now. without that there and the instructions it does say these might need to be bent out of the way, even on the truck.

so just a little should do it. Yeah, please fit, Please fed, please fit. Oh, it spins. There's nothing.

Yep, there's nothing in the way now. Cool. at least back. there.

Is there anything in the way here? Yeah. Okay, this line a little all right. It's a big test we'll do though. Can we actually get any bolts in here right now? Let's try that.

All right. Getting these bolts in from the back is very difficult. I have one in I Can't see really anything? please. just start.

No. Okay, great. all right guys. You know what? We are going to tighten up the supercharger bolts on this bracket.

so I've loosened all these up there we go. It's really hard to get back there. I Don't know if it's different on the trucks. Maybe that's why it says to bolt this on and then the supercharger once it's on.

but we're gonna do this a different way. Okay, yes, I can actually thread these things in that will was like shooting in the dark. Oh this is beautiful, nice, nice. it's Gonna Save So much time I do have power tools but I'm in this awesome like van power stance right now and I don't want to lose.

this is I feel kind of cool right now. so I don't want to put this down I'm just going to tighten it right here on my van bumper. just tighten up my supercharger for my van. Okay, yeah, one of these is a different size than the other.

That's just how it is. The supercharger is used on many different applications, so it's kind of like Universal Uh, it's the bracket that's for the truck. LS All right, we're gonna put a little bit of Loxite on here. Okay, and we actually switched these pulleys around in the instructions.

This pulley is here and this pulley's here. so we're going to stick with that. Okay, now we're just going to go ahead and reinstall this entire bracket with the supercharger. and we got the pulleys on there and everything.

so let's see how this goes. It's really hot Can I do this? Oh yeah, a piece of cake. Okay, I've got the belt routing done I Think Okay, we have to still completely tighten up the supercharger, but we might be okay. The tensioner for the supercharger is totally loose right now, so it's not under a ton of tension at the moment.

I Took the slack off again. Now we can tighten this bracket in. the supercharger is bolted onto it and we should be golden. Okay, now get the belt back on.

Everything should be nice and straight. The accessory drive belt on my van has a supercharger on it. Yes, it does. I have a van with a supercharger right now.

I Mean we are far far from being done. There's you know, there's stuff in the way that we have to figure out, but it's okay. it's okay. Look at this.

get out of my way houses. you ugly ugly hoses. Look at this thing. it's so pretty.

I Loosened up the tensioner pulley back there only because we have to finalize the tension by turning this. Allen And while I turn this, you can see that line moving closer to the other line and it needs to be pretty close to that. They gave us a picture of where it needs to be right around there. maybe a little more.

Okay, yeah, I like that. Okay, cool now. I'm just going to go ahead and lock this in by tightening up the nut for the pulley. Feeling pretty good about this right now, except that my tool is stuck I don't really care.

Come on now, who am I kidding? we're probably off to Justice at some point. right? Come on Dude, this is the right I use the right size I Keep on looking at the blower and the belt in the bracket. I'm like, what else do I need to do? It's that's it. Like that's it.

It's done. The next part of the instruction is is this: I Hope we can see this I Don't know if we're gonna be able to see this through the grill. Don't be so wicked. A van with this level of patina, but a super shiny intercooler through the grill doesn't get any better.

I'm gonna remove our Grill foreign look at this GM Quality. just that's it. Just one clip, that's all you need. This is probably like four dollars.

There's our there's our pile of stuff I'm so excited I have a supercharged 15 passenger Chevy Express 3500 van soon to be intercooled. Okay, a couple more tens. All right. So much more room for activities I Wonder if this Trans cooler is going to get in the way? All right.

So we are running into a little issue here. Um, this is the pro charger intercooler for the truck, but that has a whole different system of brackets underneath here, so on the trucks, it just bolts right in. It looks like it seems pretty easy, but we don't really have that here. We have the trans cooler in the way as well.

So yeah, this wouldn't really work as a bolt-in at the moment. So I'll give this feedback back to ProCharger and I'm sure we'll be able to find an air cooler that'll work, but right now I need to be able to tell them what piping is going to work, Maybe the piping I have work. So we're going to work our way backwards and start hooking that up and see. kind of like where it comes out.

All right. We're gonna work our way from the throttle body right now just determining what parts I'm going to keep and what I need to either make or swap out. Next up is the long tube with the mass airflow sensor and I've read that I can use an LS7 mass airflow soft to order that up and then it'll screw right into there. But don't worry, we're still going to start this van up.

It'll still we're doing that. Yeah, none of this is gonna work. Okay I Have a feeling all of the intercooler stuff is going to have to be custom on this van that's not even close. I Don't even want to mess around and scratch this up because I'm gonna have to just trade this into ProCharger uh for something else.

But okay, let's move on. let's try putting the intake on the supercharger, but this AC line just needs a little tweak. That should be good right there. A little more tweak.

Okay, get this guy here. Foreign look at this big fuse box in the way. Okay, this piece right here. this is with the air filter.

connects to over in this area to get some cooler air or in my case just to suck up a bunch of of this stuff. But either way, this specific piece for the truck. uh it doesn't fit. I Don't believe this fuse box is right here from the factory on a truck.

but it is on ours. but that's okay. I think we're gonna end up having to do all custom intercooler piping. Um and I spoke to the guys at Pro charger who connected me with a guy who has done a pro charger on a van and he used an 04 to o6 GTO intercooler for a procharger kit for the GTO So I think I need to get that and then we're gonna have to do a bunch of custom tubing work and air intake stuff which which is cool I'm excited for that and then we'll powder coat everything satin black.

uh and yeah. so anyway let's get some oil in the Pro charger and uh, put a battery in here and fire it up. I think we're good to run it? Yeah, oh geez, thank you. This is where we add the pro Charger oil.

it's our vacuum. It's got a cute little dipstick. Oh okay, so this is a six ounce bottle so we're gonna put all this in there. Another big advantage to running a pro charger is it's self-contained We don't have to run lines, returns.

Nothing. have we done yet? I Don't know. this hole needs to be a little bigger. Oh my gosh, this is going to take a while.

Okay, there we go. We have fluid. Cool. Let's button this guy up all right.

put that there battery going back in. It's like this van just went to sleep for a little while with the battery disconnected and it's waking up with like a screaming child under the hood. Oh you don't even know computer to the van. Well you literally won't know anything because the air is not blowing into the intake manifold.

but you don't even know what just happened. You've woken up from a coma. all right. Well I Never thought this was going back on, but temporarily it's going back on because it has the mass airflow sensor and the air filter.

Oh this is so ugly. Okay, there's that and there's that can I just at least move this out of the way so we can see the supercharger. There we go. I could probably leave this on.

We'll just kind of cut the back of it off depending on where all the intercooler tubing goes, this could be kind of a sleeper status. You pop the hood and you're like, oh, it's just a factory engine, Yeah, and then you see this here we go. First start with the Pro Charger I don't know why I'm nervous, should be totally fine. You hear that spin the idling high, it's coming down coming down.

Let's see what this is going to sound like. It's a lot quieter than the Corvette Oh yeah, it's missing though. it's gonna have a blow off too. Oh yeah, that's good.

That is good. I know I have a ton of work left to actually get the Boost flowing into the engine. but oh my gosh, it's so cool. My four thousand dollar van has a Pro Charger.

It's got a built transmission, a Billet torque converter, and in the next video, we're continuing on so we still have to do headers, dual valve springs, colder spark plugs. The entire intercooler system is most likely going to be kind of custom at this point along with the intake, but it's going to look mean. there will be an intercooler behind this Chevy Grille and I think you're gonna be able to see it? Hang on, let's just try. There we go.

Okay, let's say look now you can see that and we'll have a different intercooler too, so who knows you might be able to see it even more. dude. I Kind of want to do something custom with the Chevy sign and just get some like some little air holes or something that won't do anything but just kind of. You know, just give it off a little bit if you were really looking.

this is all right So I put it in Comfort mode for you. so it's gonna start off in second. you'll see the C in the instrument cluster and then right down there you'll see SC and M for me. So summer mode is once you get used to it, you can go to summer but it's very peppy off the line.

Okay, it's it's summer or sport mode, whatever you want to call it. Okay, um yeah. so I left it in Comfort second gear start for you. Okay, this is reverse AMG right? Yes Yes! My So I was uh.

my uncle when I was growing up had a SL500 that I drove and it was. It was a five liter. it was a 1997 so I've always ever since I drove that car was oh yeah that's I don't my I've driven like a stock Corvette maybe like a 2006 but that's probably the fastest car I've ever driven a 2006 Corvette in. this would be a really good race.

So yeah, okay yeah this is gonna feel I think a lot this thing just off the line everything. just the throttle response is insane. It just rips okay and it sounds so good. Yes yes it does here.

Go ahead, give it, give it a little little throttle there. Steve Oh come on yeah, that's insane. This is your car. Yes as I doesn't make doesn't make any sense.

Yeah yeah! I lived in Wyoming for a year I know all about it. That's so cool. like I went there to go to school for you know, for tech school. yeah and I told myself when I got there that I wasn't gonna mess around I was just gonna get good grades.

Yeah, that's what I did like I didn't do much. That's kind of why I went to Wyoming because if I stuck around here Chicago for tech school I would have been hanging out with them all my old friends and I wouldn't have done well. So I'm like where can I go where I can just fully concentrate on school Wyoming yeah least populated state in the country? Yeah, oh, this is insane man. The throttle response is immediate yes and it revs to the Moon It doesn't never stops for a big V8 it's just rides. Oh my God dude, that is a very fun car. This this thing is a beast. Good. Holy cow yeah, what was that like? Quarter throttle? Yeah yeah. and that was all trash control.

But but I may or may not have bought another. C63 Nice yeah. Is it a coup? Maybe it's not here yet. it's far far away, but it's fun.

Paid for it I just gotta go get it Yeah I couldn't like this is my dream car I actually tried to I was going to buy my uh uncles but I couldn't with two kids I just there's no way I'm like what am I gonna do with a convertible and Wyoming but I loved that that old 90s look to that car and it was that five liter. I Think the the Amg's that year were like were they V12s. they could have been. Yeah I think they're super problematic.

Oh yeah, to be fair, Steve most Amg's and Mercedes are problematic.
