I installed another modified transmission valve body in my 2003 E55 AMG and it's a seriously nice modification. I had installed one a few weeks ago and although it shifted quickly, it was too harsh on the downshift while coasting. This valve body will work with any 722.6, 5-speed transmissions and the larger transmission pan you see in the video is not needed.
Before you order understand this is still a performance valve body. You will still feel the coasting downshifts but they aren't as hard as the first modified valve body. I recommend this for performance-oriented cars that are raced, or if you want faster shifts. If you have a daily driver E320 for example, I wouldn't do this mod. Just enjoy the cushy luxury shifts.

Hey! I’m 28 and I’m looking to purchase my first BIG boy car 😮💨🥲 I’m kinda scared.. I wanted to know if there’s anything I should look out for and what I need to do before and after buying one
Did VRP discontinue these? Can’t find them anywhere.
For anyone who installed blue tops and is annoyed with how hard the shifts are: You can change the SCN coding to eliminate the shift harshness, but the car will go back to feeling as it did with brown tops.
Do you have to make an allowance on the dipstick level now that the sump is deeper? Enjoy your video, nice work and very informative as always. Cheers.
Hey Alex. Looks like VRP no longer offers this valve body 😢. Ideas?
Thanks for sharing im trying to install the transgo kit for the 722.6 transmission on a 2005 cdi I appreciate you knowledge,
From Canada 🇨🇦 thanks
Is the VRP valve body upgrade no longer available?
been thinking about a valve body for my 09 nag1 in the challenger srt8. i have it tuned with the transmission turned pressures turned all the way up and a throttle booster as well….frankly my transmission shifts great as is. the harder you drive it the better it shifts. the Mercedes blue top solenoids would be something nice. thinking of longevity. my 09 only has 17400 original miles on it as of 3-13-23.
love it you are a real car guy
I wondering..part number to fast shifting valve body and solenoids..
I have 722.6 (2004)..e500 4matic..
It with or with out sonax speed sift kit?.
So..no instaled sonax kit with new solenoid give fault P2106 damper solenoid..thanks info
Hi there how come VRP doesnt offer the valve body anymore?
Did you try the valve body along with a transmission flash? if so, how much better did it improve the shifting
Southern Hot Rod also makes a kick ass valve body for MB, can do factory or modified. I have an 06 Magnum SRT8 with a NAG1 and opted for the MOD6 with a set of MB blue top solenoids, 3000 stall converter and a MTCM, best $$ I’ve spent on the car to date, a total monster. Shifts are crisp and clean, downshifts a little harsh, but hopefully smoothes out the more I drive it.
Good to watching you ,how good you
are thank so much for teaching me
I’m beahind a S L 55 A M G
My only gripe with my 03 E55 is the 1972 Chevy Impala steering wheel…
Could this wheel be any thinner?
How many miles do you drive your AMG or Mercedes every year?
