I bought my C63 AMG for cheap because the seller thought the engine was bad. Today we find out by taking it apart and by performing an electronic compression test. I'll also give you a pre-purchase inspection tip that could save you thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches by avoiding a basket case car. Kind of like my C63.

Hi there new to your channel.
Just curious, you brought up that you’ll get a more refined Mercedes diagnosis compression test system. Did you ever upgraded from the multiplexer ? And second, which other similar equipment via obd that able to be use for compression test for the w204 chassis ? I’m looking to get mine tested.

Just picked up a C63! Thanks for the video. I also picked up an Autel MS906BT that will let you run the compression test… So not the cost of the STAR system but still $1200. Besides the things in the video, anything else I should look for?

    Thanks!

How do you get the hood on you 2009 c63 amg in service mood.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jason BlackForest says:

but Your car is only 63,000 miles … let's be honest … You probably did not expect to see worn camshafts with such a low car mileage. You had to buy a car with a mileage of 160,000 miles.

I have the same c63 that is continuing to misfire. Catalytic converter was clogged so dealership replaced that along with intake manifold. Removed the secondary cat and installed long tube headers at a shop and also applied a tune. The shop test drove it and it still had a misfire. They took off the tune to test it that way and still misfired. What are your suggestions on what our next step should be.

Learning all I can about M156 – I had to laugh when you said see if the dealer will let you inspect the camshafts. Most dealers in this country will barely let you open the bonnet! :p
