The BMW McPherson design works so well because of the two piece lower control arms. M5 E60 here.

I hate myself right now😂🤦🏽‍♂️I’ve always been a Merc/AMG fanatic, but recently I’ve been starting to like BMW/M cars, and it literally kills me to admit that😂I’ve talked so much shit on Bimmer, if anybody sees me switch sides I’m definitely going to hear about it lmao! I don’t know, it just seems to be unanimously agreed upon that BMW are a much better “drivers car”, it’s no secret that Mercedes makes some potent engines, but when it comes to suspension/road feel/handling/responsiveness, everything that makes a car a drivers car, the general consensus is that BMW takes the W. I really can’t help but wonder about Bimmers, and I was ignorant for too long to be so dead set on only driving Mercedes, on some weird ass fanboy energy. If anybody here wants to sway my next $50k decision please do😂 is bmw that much better of a drivers car than Mercedes, after you upgrade a Merc’s suspension components? On a side note, that GT63S 4 door “coupe” is an absolutely beautiful and impressive machine!

M275 is a good engine but ABC suspension is a nightmare from what I heard and all of the Mercedes-Benz with that engine have that suspension

would love to continue see this chats with the masters on the matter. 3rd channel / co-production, win-win, even for us.

Although they are much rarer and perhaps a little more expensive, consider an Alpina BMW instead of an M series.

BMW got more bhp from a 3.2 I6 than Merc did from the 5.4 V8. That's the difference, and there is no comparison between them. One is a reliable tractor engine, the other is an exotic racing engine. (hard to swallow facts)

You're doing it again! Let OJ talk! He's your guest, let him add his value. With regard to BMW M cars, in my opinion having owned several M-Sport cars and knowing many M car owners… if you want a four door, the E39 is a wonderful car. Just a very nice neutral handing car with lots of balls. Mechanically, major work every 100K miles, yes, but think about what you get in return. Lots and lots of aftermarket support. 2 door, E90 V-8 is a heavier car than a E36 or a E46, but boy, what an engine. Yeah, when that engine is running in the high rpms, it's music to the ears. OR, look for an S54 engine w/ 333 hp in a E36 with the complete wiring harness change/upgrade. Great driving car, and can be made into a good track car with lots and lots of parts upgrades/replacements. One of my favorite cars in my BMW fleet I have now, is my E60 550i sport. 360 HP/360TQ is a car that weighs about the same as a E39, but with far better/stronger components. AND it's SMG tranny has has two kit rebuilds over it's life time of more than 175K miles! I shift it manually with the steering wheel shifters almost all the time. SMG tranny's aren't a big deal at all. I'm still on the original clutch! This car is build very well. But it's all in how an owner cares for the car. You can pay a dollar now and the car will drive beautiful, or you can pay $3 dollars later while the car steadily drives with problems. ALSO, the 550i was available with a pure 6 speed manual! That's a great alternative. One last thing to mention is the the ZF automatic transmissions can shift really fast, and firm. You'd be surprised, put one is sport mode and it's a really fast shifter!
