After a $3,000 paint correction and ceramic coating on my 2003 E55 AMG, lots of bad things happened to my car. I ran over concrete, someone scratched my front bumper and to top it off a guy in a pickup smashed into my car. The insurance company isn't treating the ceramic coating like a normal aftermarket accessory so in this video I show you all the damage done to my car and update you on exactly how a major Insurance company deals with things like paint correction and ceramic coating. I'll give you a hint, it's not fun.

Ceramic coating is like getting porcelain fillings to insurance it's all vanity and unnecessary. The job of the insurance company is to make you whole. The paint and clear is sufficient. Anything extra is simply not their responsibility.
I find it not only weird that you filed a claim on the coating, but that you also YouTubed stuff that happens to a daily driver…as dramatic.
It is a crazy number but any high end detail is overpriced
Service supplier should charge extra for insurance to rework.

Insurance companies are arseholes of the first water your side of the pond and mine! Legalised blackmail my dear old dad called them lol
You need to fight the insurance company. By law, they have to make you whole.
Since your car has ceramic on it does that pose a problem for applying the clear coat blend? Do they remove the ceramic? How? Just a thought.
Also how would a body shop know there is ceramic coat on a vehicle if the owner does not tell them.
I don’t know if this would be a issue, just asking.
