Check out the top comment to enter the giveaway. In this episode of Factory Defects we explore a potentially deadly issue with the 2011-2017 Ford Explorer. Ford has known about this problem since 2012 and now some 1.3 million Explorers are affected. Ford isn't too worried.

I can't recommend the Sololife Brand anymore. They have had too many issues so the link is to the same kind of detector but an Amazon Choice product with great reviews. Same price, same features same color choices. Enjoy!

🤔 Alex looks 5 years younger in this video..😂😂
I have a 2014 Explorer PPV and haven't noticed any CO2 problems yet.. I've had it just over 2 years now..
My only problems I've had are the front turn signal and marker lights and the dreaded internal water pump..
The light issue has to do with the Whelen Flasher box in the wiring harness connected to the headlights up front..
That box is swelling from the extreme heat under the hood, causing no contact and no turn signals or marker lights..
There is a work around to get the lights to work and flashers to flash, but I'd like to replace the Whelen boxes in the future.. But due to price cost, I can't replace them now.. Each box is over 170.00, and I don't have any way of finding one.. I've looked at Whelen products online and can't find them.. Maybe someone can hook me up with a knowledgeable Whelen dealer here in the Carolinas..

A detector in our house saved us from death. Our generator started putting the stuff in our home. They wanted to move it 10 feet. I paid to move it 100 plus feet. Think I will throw one of my several detectors in the Explorer and see what happens. Thanks for story.

If window trim isn’t flying off then the A/C it not working. I had / have an expedition, fusion, explore, Taurus. But they seem to be using cheap materials theses days. Chevy doesn’t look so bad

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robin Sattahip says:

Has there ever been a Ford Explorer that didn't have a serious safety defect of some kind? In the 90s it was the suspension and rollovers.
