I bought an E39 BMW with a clean title, low miles, and most importantly, a manual transmission and V8 engine! This was one of the best deals I've gotten in a while but of course, the car was broken. I fix 2 big issues for $50 and get the car back on the road and driving perfectly! Enjoy!

I picked one up just like that a few years back, brought it home and started looking over it. Went to check the battery to discover it had been leaking and it ate a massive hole in the trunk lol ended up selling it as a parts car to a guy.

I missed the part where you got it running and driving perfectly for $50… Front brakes, thrust arm bushings, and whatever was going on with the rear end only cost $50?

Maybe you could get in touch with Eric at I Do Cars for some parts, He is a BMW enthusiast and could possibly help you with replacing the interior, if you want to go that far. Also if it is an M car perhaps you could replace the bumpers with the M bumpers they look a lot better.

I've never owned a BMW, but I've always admired them. Nice Purchase, looking forward to the repair videos. Cheers

You can clean the leather up no problem, but the amount of time it would take would probably far exceed the ease of just slapping on new skins. Guess it depends on your budget.

Upper timing chain covers. They will will bleed oil when the car is off. Not an easy job. Dude is sharp but I don't get the ponytail thing he's rocking…or trying to rock.

Get rid of that crank-driven fan clutch. Installing an electric radiator fan on my old 2000 540i was the best mod I ever made to it by far. Gets rid of the loud whooshing noise from the fan, removes a very large parasitic power drain, (at least 20 HP on a hot day) and eliminates the possibility of the fan clutch locking up and grenading the plastic fan, which can really tear up the eningine bay and damage the hood. It's a win-win -win job.

Okay Alex thumbs down. You talked about all the BMWs but you ignored the classic our best guess is an old Thunderbird but it was hard to tell.

Well, you could keep it as a drift car, some sort of a toy. V8, RWD and manual. Through out all inside etc, put coils, weld diff and there you go 😉
p.s. please more colab videos with O.J. 🙂

You know I had the Carly reader I loved it when I had my Toyota but when I bought my Subaru WRX they have nothing for it as far as being able to recode when I contacted them and ask them if they had anything for WRX or the STI they said just pick a similar model watch didn't quite work for me but anyhow keep up the good work and I watch till the end like I always do

My first car was an 00 528i. I loved it with my whole heart… i was 18 and nothing could tell me I wasn’t important lol. Now I’m 30, it’s long gone and I’ve been dreaming of an. 01-03 540. Can I have it please 🥲🥲🥲

You beat me , I bought. 03 corolla for 750 euro, drives superbly, but this motor looks way better to me but I wouldn't chance it for a cheap car to drive to work. You make it look so easy 🙂

Looking forward to seeing this – I had a 525i e39 a while ago and when it got some engine troubles, I sadly didn't love it quite enough to spend the money to fix it and sold it on which I regret to this day.

Could you do an International Giveaway of this car? That will be a first in the YouTube Community. FYI: This would totally feel at home in the part of the Himalayas that I live in 😁
