Now that my giveaway C63 AMG is back here at legit Street quarters I can finish it and give it away to one of you guys. And to say that this car has been a roller coaster ride would be a massive understatement. I Partnered up with Mods and Miles.com to give this car away and I bought it sight unseen in New Jersey which turned out to be a horrible idea. We flew on a one-way ticket with a backpack full of parts and tools and lots and lots of Hope and my thought was that it was either a blown engine or a 75 dollar stuck open fuel injector as up to this point I was three for three on stuck Mercedes injectors causing a hydro lock situation that didn't damage the engine well.

needless to say I was wrong and after taking apart the engine, we found a little bit of Carnage The engine was toast at just over 55 000 miles. so I ordered a new used engine with similar mileage, flew back out, removed the heads and found rust in the cylinder this time. I bought and drove home a cool Trans Am found another used engine, flew out again and it was perfect. So I upgraded and fixed every known issue with this legendary AMG V8 Installed long tube headers, larger fuel injectors, and a tune and the car ran perfectly.

I Drove home 800 miles with no issues at all and now it's time to fix everything else. This car needs to fully sort it out and truly make it a legit street car, all right. So if you guys have been waiting for the C63 giveaway I don't blame you. We had to move the date a little bit because of the whole debacle with the engine.

It took me months to find the first bad engine and then months to find the second one. So lesson learned on car giveaways. Uh, don't set a date on a project car because it's almost impossible to stick to that date. So check it out! link down below. Alright, so we're gonna start off by taking these wheels off and this will be the last time these wheels go on the car because we got new wheels and tires too.

Oh, and because we're putting new wheels and tires on this car, we are going to adjust its suspension. This has like three thousand dollar coilovers. So the wheels we have are gonna have a really nice offset and fit. So we're gonna adjust these to kind of match this thing is going to be.

Killer By The time this video is done I Can't wait. Uh, but anyway, these are the factory two-piece brakes. They have a little bit of a ridge, no warpage. They're actually still pretty good and so are the pads.

but you know, new? Wheels Tires Lowered suspension. We gotta have new brakes. but yeah, this is a really special. C63 Because of that P30 package.

you don't see too many of these earlier four-door ones. Uh, with that so really cool card, It's getting cooler by the minutes. Although we didn't get low on power steering fluid, we had a pretty good leak. But no, now it's gone here.

I'll pop up some footage of what this looked like when I was in West Virginia and it was just spewing out. Oh man, does this even need a rack? Oh no, there we go. Yeah, it needs a wreck. There should never be any fluid in this boot.

but I guess it's a very slow leak. It could have accumulated literally over years. But yeah, we can't have a leak in rack. Come on now.

Oh, we could have a weak gun either. More speed, more power. Yeah, look at that. It's not even like it's not even really like a live leak.

None of that's wet. I Gotta say I Probably could have gotten away without replacing the Rack or the brakes. But here we are. Let's look over Rusty and I's work on resealing this engine.

We resealed practically everything. No leaks. We're doing good. See, look at, that's our sealant right there.

We did a transmission service as well. That's good. Uh, and then we have the Vrp long tube headers. Look at how big the primaries are.

This is like the size of the factory exhaust on cars like my Eclipse. All right, let's get this rack out of here. I'm gonna say this rack is held in and secured to this vehicle like Fort Knox It's insane. There's six gigantic bolts and a plate for it.

Most racks are only like two big bolts. That's it. All right. last.

Bolt There we go. All right, there's our big plate. I Mean to be fair, these two big bolts are the ones that directly hold the Rack in. But oh, this rack's easy.

It's like an hour hour job. That's the book timer. That's how I know. the book time's like three hours.

The real time is like a half hour. Realistically at the dealer after you've done a bunch of these, it's like, yeah, let's go to lunch now. I'm done before doing anything else. Make sure to disconnect this connector here and don't damage this sensor.

These are very expensive and then we'll disconnect the steering shaft right here Just a couple of 13s for this. a ratcheting wrenches key. All right. Well pop.

Okay, don't lose that. We'll get this bolt out of the way all right now. We gotta get this guy out. These kind of get stuck on the splines a little bit.

but yeah, Luckily we just did the engine like 800 miles ago and we had that disconnected. so that's good. This thing's coming out like butter. Next up, we have the two lines and it's just one bolt to get this plate off.

Okay, let's use a screwdriver to kind of pry this off gently. There we go. Now, we're gonna lose some fluid here. It's okay.

All right, then. this is all fresh fluid. There's no reason to waste it. So plug it up.

All right. I Need to get these tie rods off Last man. we need a different size plug. Look at this now.

it's like a it's like a trumpet. Don't use impacts on these tools unless they're your tools. Then you can do whatever you want. All right, let's get this old rack out of here.

There we go. All right. Uh with the old and in with the new. look at this.

Bilstein Made In Germany This is just two I Want to hang this up on my wall? Would it be weird if a guy had a rack hanging from his bedroom walls like a decoration? I Don't think so I Mean we just got to straighten this guy out. We took it out with a straight steering wheel and we're going to put it back in that way. And if you see here, we got these notches that line up with this. That means you're straight and now we're ready to go in with the new.

All right. So I've loosened up the tie rods so we can easily position them where they need to go. and now this guy's kind of flopping around. Let's pop in our lines and we got new O-rings for this.

I'm just lubricating them a little bit. Don't forget to take your little flute off this guy in. first. All right.

Then take your little plug out. Don't forget it. There we go. All right.

We got to be quick about this. Okay, almost. Ah, okay. All right.

I Got the beautiful new rack wet with oil. Didn't want to do that. my arm's getting tired. Alex What's going on guys? What are you working on? Yeah, right there.

All right. I got it. Peter You're gonna allow blood to flow back into your arm now. Okay, hang on.

I Can't get this started, can you? How's your arm? Nope. I Used to do this myself, have gotten fat and lazy in your old age all right now. We just turned this gigantic. Bolt Tighten it up.

click click click. We're good. All right. Next up, we have to get it onto the steering shaft and this can be not fun in some cases.

but we have two clean Parts going together so it should be okay. Yeah, sometimes you just got to give it a couple love Taps Nothing crazy, all right and then go back together with the bolt coming from the driver's side. All right, we're gonna do a little bit of Loctite on this nut. That's good and we're gonna put a little bit of Loctite here on the tie rods as well.

All right, it's this nut is over spinning on. You can use one of these little spin jacks or a floor jack and you just want to put a little bit of pressure on the bottom. We're good. All right.

we'll cook this guy back on. All right. we're going back together with our bulletproof steel plate. All right.

Hammer Peter Hammer Hammer Did it go through? Yeah. okay. once you get one nut started, your home free. That's uh, that's by far the hardest one.

All right. We have all six rack bolts in. you just need to tighten them up and I always start with the two longer ones. Get out all right.

I'll go in and save you little buddy. Try the other way. All right. let's top up our power steering fluid now.

Oh, look at that Precision right there. No funnel needed. Shouldn't need all that much because we plugged it up All right. Next up, before you fire it up, when you do a new rack, we're just gonna go lock to lock on the steering wheel just to kind of get all the air out all the bubbles so it doesn't go.

When we first started, it was like what? All right, let me know. If it's spewing out, you got to go really slow. It's going up. What's that? It's going up.

Oh no, it's up and down. Oh down, Down Down. and I gotta kind of work it both ways so you don't make a mess a little up. Okay, did it come out? No no.

it's just right at the top. Geez, spelled it spilled. It's still spilling. Oh, it's still spilling.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is why I don't put the panels on yet because you might. You might spill. All right.

I'm just gonna go ahead and fire it up ready. Oh yeah, I'm gonna get any wine from the pump. We're good. We're gonna cap it off right now and then go lock the lock.

It'll suck it down. just a little. should be good. Oh yeah, yep, we're good.

All the bubbles are out. It can be a little choppy when you first start doing it and then it'll get smooth. and if you go a little bit overboard, you can just suck some out. These little syringes are really nice.

There we go. We don't have an air compressor for a Pneumatic extractor. These little syringes work Perfect. All right.

So with the new rack and after having checked for leaks, we are good to go back on with these. Beauties right here so you might remember how dirty these things were so we pressure washed them off and they're beautiful now. All right, our steering is nice and smooth. We will have to get an alignment after we lower it and put the new wheels on.

But speaking of smooth, this Alcantara is very very oily and smooth. So this is the factory. P30 Performance package Steering wheel So you get the limited slip. You get those gigantic two-piece rotors, you get the steering wheel and C63 guys out there what else do you get with the P30 I think that might be it.

This isn't the year where they did the forged internals on the performance pick. so I think that's it. But anyway I showed this in the Reveal video and I'm like yeah, I don't like these Alcantara steering wheels because they look like this after 50 000 miles and then you're pretty much dead in the water. But many of you guys told me how to clean this so we're gonna.

We're gonna try out some suggestions from the comment section. All right guys to fix our Alcantara steering wheel. Hopefully fix the Alcantara steering wheel because I've never done this before. Uh, we're gonna do what a lot of you guys suggested to do, which is a little bit of warm water and some regular detergent so This could be tied Arm and Hammer or whatever is for sale at the Jewel down the street from your shop.

that Jules and we're just going to mix this together I Oh, this looks kind of cool. Look at that. You gotta make a tornado of it too because you're a eight-year-old child in reality. Uh.

Anyway, so we're gonna use a new interior brush and I'm going to leave you guys a link to some of these because we bought a really nice kit and these are really good quality, super cheap. Uh, but anyway, let's go over to the steering wheel. Can't forget our microfiber and this stuff smells so good. All right.

So my mentality right now is that we cannot fix this. This looks permanently damaged to me, but you guys said we could and I'm definitely gonna try it. So this is all that's supposedly gonna fix this Alcantara and bring it back to its like new condition I Don't know. and basically what happens here is all the grease and oil and dirt from your hands is just rubbed into this very porous material for so many years and it just builds up and it turns into a smooth, kind of oily mess.

Basically, we should be able to show a lot on this light colored microfiber. I Gotta say It's already looking really good. Look at that and we got to be gentle here too. You don't want to get a drill out here with one of the brush extensions on there because I think you could just rip this apart.

It's a pretty fragile material. Overall, yeah, it's looking much better. We definitely still have a lot of work to do, but so far we've gone from that all the way to that. Not bad.

all right guys. Well I'm gonna keep going here for probably about I don't know 20 minutes I don't know however long it takes to restore the steering wheel and I'll show you. hopefully really good before and after, but this is looking good. Look at this.

just some of the dirt water drips on the seat right now. this was nasty. We are gonna be able to eat off this steering wheel one day and I think that was probably the issue. They were eating on the steering wheel before and it got all nasty and greasy.

All right guys, here we are. this is looking so much better. I think I'm done cleaning at this point so we do have to let it dry for a few hours so let's go work on something else. All right.

Next up: Brembo Brake Replacement and I have made many videos on. This one is dedicated to why you should never pay anyone to replace your fixed caliper brakes because they're actually easier than normal people brakes. So I'm just kind of loosen them up right now. All right, because we have this aftermarket Reservoir right here.

we can't get a socket to the top bolt. Oh, we got a wrench on there. Oh yeah, that is on there I Need a little hammering assistance? There you go. Bottom one: We can get the ratchet foreign.

These are some gigantic breaks I Think the caliper size is the same, but if you get the performance pack car, it's just the rotors or the two-piece ones. And technically with two piece rotors, you can replace just the rotor and keep the hat. So I'm gonna keep the old ones. and I don't know what I'm gonna do with them.

Who knows. Maybe we'll put them on some other AMG car at some point. All right, it's not bolt coming out, gigantic caliper coming off. You never want to hang the caliper by the brake hose.

We're gonna use a bungee and hang it up on our coilovers like that. And then we have our T30 here holding our rotor on. Is she gonna come off? Not without some Persuasions All right guys, we're pre-oiling this because I don't want to hit it with a hammer. Okay, probably didn't need anything on there.

it just pretty much came right off. Oh, we got animals in here. My gosh, is this a mummy. Whoa.

this is weird I mean it's it's it's dead, right? I Don't know it could be alive because I really want to open this cocoon up right now. but I don't want to do it if it's alive. it's probably been there for a while, right? Peter If I open this up and I kill a family of spiders, it's all your fault. I'll eat them.

You'll eat them. If they're alive, you've got to eat them. Let's go to the animal dissection table. Oh I Feel bad Dusty It's dusty.

Yeah dude. this is a thick thick cocoon here. Man, like they weren't messing around. I Guess that's that.

AMG spindle life. You're inside of an AMG spindle on a P30 package with the two-piece disc brakes. You never know what's gonna happen. PW coilovers.

Yeah, so scary dude. Oh dude. Yeah. All right, they're all dead.

All right. Um, was it a spider? I think it was. Yeah. I Thought I saw little spider legs in there.

Sorry little buddy, you didn't make it a heck wow. that's like a beetle. It's like a beetle. It's like Beetle shell right there.

Yeah, you're right People out there who know about insects. What was this? What could this have been? Do you remember the word for insect nerds? Insect nerd etymologist? Yeah. whatever. it's insect nerds.

If you know what this is, let me know. We're gonna name you P30 Little Buddy for the P30 performance pack and into the air. you go my friend. I'm not good at eulogies.

Is that eulogy? That's the eulogy? Yeah, Or as our friend says, are you googly yeah I'm not good at you Googlies But here we go. All right. before our new rotor goes on. We're gonna do a little bit of anti-seize and by a little I mean a little, you just need a very tiny amount.

That way the rotor doesn't get stuck on for the next guy. All right, that's all you need. A little silver sheen is good. Oh yeah, look at that.

Oh, that's beautiful. Oh, it's gonna look so good behind our new Wheels All right. So we're gonna get rid of our bungee cord now. All right.

So now we're gonna go back together with our caliper and the old pads temporarily. Don't worry, people, put new pads in it. All right. So let's start this bottom bolt because it's easier for me to get to and I'll start this top one off and we're gonna tighten these bolts up all the way before we remove these old pads.

Okay, all right, that's on. Now we're going to unplug our brake pad sensor and then you want to be really careful, especially in these nice pretty AMG calipers not to go off and scratch them all. Right now, we're just going to pull the pins out. there.

We go. All right. Top pin should be much easier. There we go on the AMG cards, you have to remove this long bar.

it's just a 13.. there we go. All right, All right guys. So we're going to compress these pads in, double up your Rag and just give it one of these.

You don't want to scratch the paint and these gigantic pads will come out. See, they're really not that bad. This could have gone another I don't know, 5000 miles or something. These are some serious pads.

They have these weights here to try and reduce the noise a little bit and we're going to try and reduce the noise a little bit more with some of this break paste and we'll put it on the sides as well and then we'll go right back together. We cleaned up the caliper already so that's good. Okay, cool, all right inner pad is going in there. we go now.

we have our gigantic crossbar also and I Gotta say I Can't believe they don't paint this silver to match the caliper. It just looks looks bad a little Loctite on the bolt for that click and then we cleaned up our Hardware so that's ready to go. and if you guys are wondering, you don't have to replace Mercedes-Benz Brake Hardware Every time you do pads, this stuff is pretty robust. Unless it's rotted out and rusted, you can leave it.

this is in really good shape. Pin on both top and bottom. you're good. All right.

New sensor going in so oh there we go and you can tuck the little wire in like so and now you're done. Look at how beautiful this is and we found a new screw that holds the rotor on in the box so that was very nice of them to give us two little screws with our one thousand dollar rotors or you want to drive on these. they look, they look too nice and they painted this for us and everything. I mean maybe it is worth a thousand bucks All right.

We finished up this side as well, so at this point we have to get the new Wheels on the C63 see what they look like and see what the ride height looks like so we can go ahead and start adjusting these after letting the steering wheel dry for a few hours. This is our final result and I have to say I'm blown away at how good this looks. If you remember before, this steering wheel was very greasy, shiny and smooth and I didn't think we could restore this Alcantara back to what we see. Now look at this.

all the fibers are clean. Uh, they've kind of puffed back up a little bit. They feel great and uh yeah, this looks awesome I Did not think this was going to happen so I'm still not a huge fan of putting Alcantara on a steering wheel I think I'd just rather have leather on the side, maybe carbon fiber on the top and bottom. I Think that'd be pretty cool in some cars, but yeah, this looks good.

I mean it's pretty much restored. as good as it can be for 56 000 miles. I'd say this is more than presentable All right. We're here at the alignment shop not only for an alignment, but for some new.

Wheels All right. so we want to do the alignment with the new Wheels and here they are. This looks so cool right now and I picked out this color I think it matches the car perfectly and I love the style as well. I've had some similar wheels on other cars and they look good and what I really like about them is that they show off these massive brakes so much better than the factory wheels.

All right guys, here it is with the new Wheels we still have to put these center caps on obviously. but I really like the rear ride height and I jounced the car up and down a few times so it's settled. I think that is perfect. Man, did these wheels look good with this car, but the uh, the front which is adjustable is a little bit higher up.

It's pretty good though. So I think we're just going to lower this a little bit and then align it and that should be about it. That's good, all right. So right now we have to loosen up this little lock set screw.

Then we're going to use our special wrench here to adjust these and we can use the set screw so we know what a full rotation is. All right guys, here is our ride height so we lowered it a little bit in the front. Nothing too crazy now. I think it just looks a lot better.

It's more even now. Wow, do these wheels look good? All right. Let's do our alignment all right. Everything's all set up on the alignment machine and I didn't make any adjustments whatsoever.

We just kind of threw the Rack in there wherever it was at and look, we got toe kind of close. all right. So he's making the adjustment right now on the tie rods and as he turns we will see the toe move. yellow, green.

we're getting close. Cool. look at that. Perfect.

and then he's going to hit the other side as well and we'll see this go from red to Yellow to Green as well. and that'll change the toe sometimes on the other side as well. That's fine, all right. So I'll let him fine tune everything.

he's got to make some more adjustments. Uh, and then I'll go drive this thing around. We'll probably see the ride height settle even more. Alright guys.

Just got back from the alignment shop straight as an arrow. Here we go. Perfect. and you know what else is perfect.

The sound of this engine. this thing rips all right. Let's go finish it up. All right guys.

with the wheels and The Stance looking awesome. We need to make the rest of the car look awesome with a Quick Car Wash That's my favorite part. Look at that foam people. it's insane guys.

Do just simply water, so if you wanted to rinse the car right off, you could do that too without having to swap anything over. I Have lug bolts and caps I'll show you guys during the final reveal, but Peter and I are cleaning up the interior and check this out. This is going to be nice and satisfying.

Look at all this. we're getting off this driver's seat. It was quite dirty. We're gonna have this all minted out though.

I'm going at it again on this driver's seat lathering this thing up. We're in a leather condition as well. Oh, it's gonna be a beautiful place to be cleaned up the rest of the Interior as well. Man oh man have I been waiting for this moment for a long time.

The C63 AMG is complete and just look at this car. Look at the paint, look at the wheels, look at the fitment. It is absolutely perfect. And speaking of fitment, I Got the wheels and tires from Fitmentindustries.com I've gotten a bunch of wheels and tires from those guys, so I'll drop a link down below actually I think my first set from them was on my other white 2009 C63 AMG But just look at this.

The specs are perfect with a little bit of a lowered ride height and the fitment. This has no spacers whatsoever. so I'll leave that link with all the specs and everything if you guys have one of these kinds of cars. But wow and with the black lug bolts and the center caps, everything just ties in.

I Love it and we could go much lower. but I think this is a very nice and drivable stance. No one's going to run into any issues bottoming out or hitting the fenders or quarters or anything like that and just are we kidding. Right now, the wheels, the brakes, the coilovers.

oh this looks so good. I Like the carbon fiber lip on this car I think it makes it look much more aggressive and in the rear we have the little Factory lip spoiler on the trunk lid and some more carbon fiber. They put a carbon fiber diffuser on it as well and just jeez. I Can't get over this.

It looks good at every angle and one of you guys is gonna be winning this car in less than a month from now. So the giveaway date is April 6th that is now the middle of March So I only have about three weeks left with this, but she is complete, fully sorted out mechanically and ready to provide Smiles for a very, very long time. This is probably going to be the thumbnail to this video. Wow, Just wow. So when I picked this car up in Philadelphia it was an absolute train wreck. I Was really bummed out about the engine, but with some help from some good friends Craig and Rusty at Modern Master Phil at Victory Road Performance, we were able to put together a unit of a C63 AMG upgrading all of the common issues with the engine, installing, exhaust, tuning it, and after doing everything to the engine, the car has performed flawlessly.

So this is how it looked when I left West Virginia and right before I Drove about seven eight hundred miles home to Chicago and this is what it looks like today. and hang on. Let me show you something else that a lot of you Mercedes guys might appreciate a Mercedes-Benz with absolutely no warning lights on whatsoever. Zero messages.

Fully serviced, ready to go with no issues now. I Can't place a warranty on this car, but out of all the 57 000 mile AMG cars out there of this era, this one now has to be be one of the most reliable. And if you haven't watched The Engine videos I'll link them down below but it is solid as a rock. Guys: I Mean it shifts perfectly, the engine sounds great.

Oh, and I cleaned that up a little bit. Let me show you that too here she is one last time on my channel for this car. I will have another M156 car on the channel kind of soonish. I Already bought it but it's really really far away so I have to go pick it up and that one is getting a supercharger and we're gonna go crazy with it.

But here is this M156 for the last time on my channel and I'm very, very sad to see this go. It's been a big pain in my butt flying back and forth I flew out three times a total of three times Philadelphia the first time and then West Virginia the second time we got the bad motor and then again West Virginia or the third and final time when I fix the engine and drove it back. So it's been a big big logistical pain in my rear, but she is done all right guys. Hang on I Got to show you guys the interior.

We just spent so much time cleaning it up, but it smells amazing in here. No one ever smoked in this car. Uh, you guys already saw, the steering wheel is in great shape. It does have an aftermarket radio which has like apple carplay and a bunch of stuff like that uh, black headliner sunroof, super bolstery, seats that are in great condition, a little wear on the driver's side bolster, but nothing too bad, and the back seat is practically brand new so all cleaned up, ready to roll.

All right guys, that's it. This is the outro and it feels kind of weird to me because although I haven't had the C63 here in Chicago with me for very long, I have grown quite attached to this car every time I flew out. I got to hang out with my friends Rusty and Craig and Phil and we would wrench on cars all day. We just had a really good time.

We went out to eat at night, it was just. it was a lot of fun and it's all because of this car. So as much of a pain in the butt, it's been for me, especially logistically with flying out of town for so long. In the end, it's totally worth it.
