Mercedes-Benz didn't exactly go crazy with steering wheels in the older AMG cars. For the most part, they were off the shelf steering wheels from base models cars and they really don't belong any near a performance car. In this video I replace the steering wheel in my 2003 E55 AMG with a much nicer flat bottom, Alcantara wrapped, aluminum paddle shifter equipped steering wheel. This wheel looks absolutely perfect and is what Mercedes should have used back in the day.

My 2004 car you definately can put it back wrong. I would have paid more attention when removing it if I had realised. There is a timing mark however, but I’ll need to have the car back together to find out..,
The trick of making a good steering wheel is making it look better than oem without losing that oem look and this just looks cheap when im sure it isnt.
Idek if you still check the comments on this series but I’ve been looking at these and was wondering if these same mods would installl the same on a cl 55 since it’s the same engine just not the same chassis

Hello, I’m chatting with the guys that you ordered your wheel from, he said that it’s rare to have the wheels with paddle shifts, I hope these guys know what their doing, I do trust your advice and suggestions but he should know that all E55 and E63 have paddle shifts, do you know who you were talking to directly with, I don’t want them to just make wholes on the back of the wheel, it should be a stock wheel but with the bottom cut off just like your wheel, please help if you can.
