Hey guys, the svt lightning is officially down so i towed a car last week everything went great, but now i can't keep coolant in the engine. It keeps on overheating, and now it's in its final resting place before i start to perform some experiments to try to fix this engine, which will inevitably lead to me needing to rip the entire engine apart to fix it properly. But if you guys want to see the very last video of the svt lightning functioning properly, i'm going to leave it down below. In the comment section i towed an lt1 trans am and gave it away to a high school kid in need who had blown up his lt1 firebird engine, and this kid reminded me so much of myself when i was like 17 or 18 years old.

We had so much in common. It's really crazy check out the video it's down below and i'll see all of you guys in the next video.

You need some sound insolation in that garage, there is too much echo. Linus Tech Tips did a video on fitting some and you don't need to do all the walls just some sections.

Lightnings, look at it just like your TransAm. It's one of a kind it's a truck that won't ever come back in the market from the factory it has nice body nice stance nice curves. Keep it and fix it up rebuild it, it will sell for a lot in a future.

Sounds like it's time for the teardown and fixing the plug holes and etc. – looking forward to you working on this thing, head gaskets are always fun.

Ohh, Alex, I think you should have fixed the leaking head gasket? Greets from Northern Europe!

I'm having the same problem with 2003 cobra
I know that you are going to re torque the head bolts if it works I will try it on mine
    Thanks for the information

Alex that svt is worth more than some of your european cars that you spend crazy amounts of time on. Give the svt the love it deserves already!

Alex, the head gasket job is really easy on the tritons, I would suggest just doing it the right way and purchasing a beater without a heater to test out the mechanic in a bottles. I was able to do head gaskets on a town car in around 5 hours and around $100 worth of specialty tools off of amazon. In bocca al lupo!

Alex – You Can Do It ! Bring it back to life. You also should Mentor the HS Student, have him work with you and learn more at LSC .

Drive a tweaked cummins RAM and ditch the SVT without looking back… Or if wanting Petrol, get a Syclone

Nooooo. Fix it, beef up the engine, get interior and exterior back to 110%, then see if you can sell/trade it for a newer Tundra for your car hauling, since you don't need a massive amount of towing power.

The Lightning is one of my favorite vehicles, but with as crazy as most used prices are, it may be best to get rid of it before the middle of 2022 when a plateau could be reached.

I literally saw a silver one of these for sale right before the pandemic, really wished I stopped to look at it.

I need these lightning videos because I need to know how to work on my own lightning. Thanks for the great videos Alex!
