If Elon can build a Cybertruck then I can build a Corvette that gets over 40 MPG. Here's how I built the world's first EcoVette and how I accurately tested its fuel economy by driving hundreds and hundreds of miles while really needing to use the bathroom.

I'd love to see a follow-up video on this and see if there have been any issues with doing this, or if further tuning was done! I have a C6Z daily driver and I'm tempted to play with that part of the tune, lol!
I live in Victoria Australia and would love you to fix my jeep commander you are the the best I know you are not big on these things but I would som feed back love you Alex
If you went 55 the whole time, you could get near 45mpg. As long as the rpm is low!
Great job on the mpg.
Keep up the good work.
I really like to get good fuel economy on the freeway but the mileage in twisty mountain roads is just for fun.
It's been 3 years and wondering if this is where the EcoVette's story came to an end? You did talk about better flowing headers…lighter wheels and so on. Achieve victory an (apparently) easy victory and stop there? Or…were there long term issues with lean burn or just not enough interest…
This is amazing..
Eco vet ❤
I wonder if a similar tune could be done on an LS1 Camaro/Firebird? They're not as aerodynamic, but certainly capable of 40MPG while hypermiling. I remember using my Camaros to haul ridiculous loads by folding the rear seatback down and leaving the hatch partially open. 46" Hitachi big screen TV, King Size softside waterbed with frame and "box spring" platform, 70" LCD TV, ten sheets of OSB plywood. Those cars were honorary trucks.
It was pretty interesting to watch this experiment, thanks for the videos.
This is such a cool experiment! Thanks for doing this. I'd love to have that same program on my 2002 M6 Camaro SS.
And a fuel pump click is not an accurate measure.
And high tire pressures. Geez no effort spaired for milage per gallon. Lol
Umm a big old plastic bottle is great to eliminate p stops. 😅
Would this kind of tuning be possible on an '89 C4 Corvette with an L98? Or is its ECU too old and unsophisticated?
A tune is what everyone should get but they are costly and have a step learning curve if you want to learn it yourself.
The car manufactures create cars for all environment so they are generically tuned and not always the best performance from them.
A local tuner can dial it in for your driving style, altitude, gas type, driver preferences etc….
What the best fuel economy you've gotten and what kind of car?
