Um so like a all-out show car. DSM build and he will sell it I Mean this is crazy to see right now. but this was done in 2001 and how long did he say it was sitting? Um at least eight years with the fuel that's in it and is it? E85 Oh great. Okay wow.

so the guy's inside. He just came out and we said we're gonna film a little. He was cool. oh my God Are you kidding me? Dude, this is done up.

He said it had a forged motor or something, right? Yeah, fully built motor? Look at the intake. Oh my gosh, you gotta be kidding me right now. So this car was built right about a year after Fast and the Furious came out Oh my gosh. I Mean respect.

Not my thing at all. but respect here. I mean the amount of work that probably went into this car? Well the interior is just mostly painted I guess but different steering wheel. Whoa.

Here is the bumper. What else? Oh wow. It's got a carbon fiber trunk lid too. So is this oh there's no way.

Lexan back glass so this is no with a windshield. Dude, this guy put some money into this car. Are we buying this thing or what? How do you Not buy this? How? All right guys. It's a few days later we got the car.

It is a Talon TSI First time Max has seen it. Dude Yes, you guys aren't gonna believe this. So Peter was looking at the Acura It's like a three thousand dollar. Acura So we got the Acura and this car for 10 000.

Okay, the guy has a stack of receipts like this Big. we actually forgot them over there. We got to get him. but he estimates there's at least sixty thousand dollars in 2001 money into this build.

So we just got it dropped off from the tow truck and we're gonna push it in the shop and and we're getting right into it. Guys, we want to see if we can get this thing to fire up. I Mean this is. It's kind of a big gamble.

If it fires, this is a money making car. this will sell for way more. probably way more than double what we paid for it if the engine's bad and the guy totally trashed on it before selling it to us. Uh, then we gotta spend quite a bit of money to get it going.

but this is what we live for Peter Ten thousand bucks wasn't Acura I mean I Can't believe it. Look at this. I mean this is like 2500 bucks right here. It's got a really nice turbo I think is this a scatter Shield right here.

Oh damn he said it's got a fully built trans and all this stuff is very expensive. So this could be like a six thousand dollar engine. six thousand dollar transmission, a couple thousand maybe like three, four thousand with a manifold and the Turbo eight or ten Grand in carbon. Like yeah, like the carbon each He said Each one of these pieces was 2500 bucks.

Oh and check this out. It's got these wheels from Japan and I Have no idea why this is but it has two valve stems I Have never seen that in my life. Let me know in the comment section. Why? Why? All right? So we gotta push this into the shop and uh, it's been sitting with E85 for a long time so we have to attack the fuel system first.

we're gonna do our normal routine. uh, boroscoping the cylinder, spraying some oil in there, making sure a Piston's not blown up. Uh and then yeah, we're gonna try and get it started in this video. Peter percentage chances this thing fires up after our normal little maintenance routine.

Oh I Got good feeling about this one. I Gotta say 98 98 9 cents on a completely unknown build like that's been sitting for forever with E85 that is. That's a lot of confidence right there. Don't smash that carbon door.

We're gonna try and get a lot of this stuff out. so E85 absorbs a lot of moisture and it's not even recommended to leave it in your tank for six months, let alone, you know, eight years. I Don't even think it would fire up on this stuff at this point. I Think we're gonna invest in an electric fluid transfer pump at this point with all these old abandoned type of vehicles with bad fuel that we get or or not and I could just get exercise every once in a while like this is working I Think like the packs and the pack traps.

the traps are up there. That's I don't think it's working your traps I'm not a doctor I just play a mechanic on TV I have to feed you all your lines. That is really Orange she's brown. It's made of corn.

This is a full tank and it's got like probably 16 gallons in it or whatever. and I've gotten out like maybe one at this point. This is not. We might need to look into a different way of doing this here.

look at all these nice cobwebs, spiders. oh little babies maybe? Uh, we got a little fluid leak action going on here. Wow. They painted the oil pan, look at this, the balancer and all the pulleys kind of match the paint on the car and the guy said that the transmission is all built and ready to handle basically whatever you can throw at it.

Um, let's see. we got the wastegate dump right here so this thing is probably super loud. The calipers are painted to match the body. This is a lot of details.

It's it's all done. Really nice though. You know this is beautiful. All right.

Uh, what are we here for? We need to drain fuel. All right guys. Here's our setup. We are powering up this fuel pump and we have it jumped to the fuel pump up there so they'll come out at the same time.

so all we have to do is turn on our our fuel pump switch right there. We also have a bunch of buckets because this tank is full and we are going to crack the line here at this super cool looking fuel filter and we'll see what comes out. Oh that was really loose. All right here we go people.

The fuel in the tank doesn't really look that bad, but I've seen the 85 at fuel injectors and it just kind of like thumbs up. but I don't know. maybe it's not that old. Oh okay.

well nothing's coming. Oh wait, why whoa What in the world? Oh my gosh, this thing is like totally clogged up. like a like a clogged up artery. Whoa.

Look at the fuel filter. No way. I Mean this is bad, but also awesome. Uh, let's get a pick and see if we can get some of this stuff out or hold on what? Uh, let's just this.

Do we have a baby? Is it a boy? Oh wow, it's just disintegrated. 150 psi of air pressure will do that. but that's that's what the clog was. That gives me hope though that this is going to be easy to do because we have liquid coming out of the fuel pump.

so the pumps are fine. Yeah, so everything and the tank I mean at that point we'd know is good. Yeah? I think it's here forward so the rail and the injectors and everything are. they got to be super close.

So all the important stuff I'd rather have it this way because I don't have to take the tank out and all that. Yes, well, because we can, we're gonna have to backflow the injectors anyway. Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is the easier one. We're good.

All right. let's see a little crust there. This is the uh, the return line that connects to the rail. It's got a little.

oh wow. All right. we got to take this fuel pressure regulator out and disassemble it because I don't trust what could possibly be in here. All right there we go.

This is a nice piece. I have the same one on the Trans Am stuff in there I Don't want to mess with the fuel pressure on this guy. so I'm just going to hold it. There's going to be a spring you're fighting, but be prepared.

Just do it each one of them a little bit at a time. Okay, please be okay. Oh, that diaphragm looks good. Be good.

just a little bit of cleaning I Don't see any tears though on the diaphragm when you get a tear in the diaphragm on your fuel pressure regulator. The vacuum line that hooks up to it right here will have fuel coming out of it which will get sucked up directly under intake manifold and it'll run horrible. Super Rich So always check that. But yeah, we just got to do a little bit of cleaning in here and we should be good.

All right, we're getting lucky so far. Let's get that rail off. What are your odds on the injectors? 100 I Mean they're gonna be. They're going to be really, really clogged and dirty.

but we're going to use our injector cleaning machine. Of course our PI from Amsoil should clean it right up. Foreign fuel rail is coming out. There we go.

Looks like we have some pretty big spacers that I'm dropping everywhere. Looks like we had some pretty big speakers. We have two spacers now. All right.

Wow, these are expensive and they are full of garbage. Wow, that is some serious like yeah, this stuff was just white and jelly. That stuff has other stuff. they've had more time to coagulate more air.

We're just using some electrical contact cleaner here. All right. So we're filling our little tank up here with the performance improver from Amsoil So this is the reservoir. It's got just a little tiny pump in here and this is what it looks like inside.

This is kind of annoying. It takes forever to fill it up with this little hose, but that's what we're dealing with. all right. So we've put the entire bottle in and we did have a little bit of gasoline some 93 in here before, but we should be good.

All right. Injectors are in our injection cleaning machine and we're on number two idle test. Let's see what happens. Okay, that's pretty good.

So they're kind of racing against each other. You can see that's a little brown and yellow nasty looking fuel right now. so it's about a 50 50 mix between the fuel and the performance improver and it's very, very foamy right now. but they are racing away.

I Don't know about the spray pattern yet. I Think we're gonna have to run this for quite some time. Yeah, and we're at about 30 40 PSI uh fuel pressure and we'll just kind of see what happens here. Yeah, I don't know guys.

last time we used 100 gasoline and uh, it wasn't nearly as foamy like this. It was kind of easier to see the results, so this could be because we're using the the cleaner now. All right, let's let this settle down though and we'll see what our our results are, but they all look pretty even this one may be a little bit lower. All right guys.

here are the final results. This injector, uh, lost by a little bit. It's not too bad. Um, but at this point we're going to drain all this and just looking at how much this tank holds I Think we were running a hundred percent of the Pis.

Yeah, you can see where the level is right now. so we're gonna add uh, 93 octane to the rest and just do this all over again. I Think the gas will really help us see kind of the consistency in the spray pattern because this is not the exact same viscosity as gasoline. It's a little thicker and we really want to see the flow.

And then we'll do the ultrasonic cleaning with just the pi uh in the little tank here. Yeah, so one of these cans treats 30 gallons of fuel, so we have quite the concentration right now, which will definitely help clean the fuel injectors. but I just I Really want to see the spray pattern? the real spray pattern? All right. So we're totally full now and let's see what our spray pattern looks like.

Takes a little while to build up pressure. Oh yeah, okay, all right We're Off to the Races Let's see what happens, but the spray pattern is already looking a lot more normal. Oh, these are yeah. these These are going to be good man.

Peter I Think we got good injectors? Dude, we got good injectors, good fuel pumps. Uh, we're gonna clean up the regulator, we'll clean up the rail, and our fuel system is going to be good. We're yeah, we got to pull some plugs first. And the Boost Okay, so yeah, this one is again just a little bit below the other ones.

Let's just clean them up in the ultrasonic. This is always super satisfying. See you all right? So we have the injector tips in the ultrasonic bath and we're gonna go down. there.

It's a number one ultrasonic cleaning and then it makes this horrible Nails on chalkboard type of sound and we'll let that run out for about 10 minutes and then re-test while the injectors are buzzing away. Let's bore a scope watch. We're doing all this whole fuel system and then it's got like holes and pistons.

I mean I Guess we still need to fix. We need to still fix the car no matter what. but maybe we should have started with the engine first. Wow, look at this plate.

Man this is thick. Well also this says coil unplugged. The white one doesn't Yeah, you're right. distributor still.

Oh that's cool I didn't notice that so they had to have gotten a whole new harness or spliced it in. Yeah well that that you can. You can run that when you run the Vs Emily the DSM link. Yeah, it allows you to do coil unplug.

All right, let's remove some spark plugs. Please be okay. Please be okay. Please be okay.

Brand new. Literally never fired. Wow. that's clean.

That's like scary though too. Lick it. Lick it. It's so easy to lick this one.

Yeah, it's brand new. There's nothing on here. Maybe. and maybe a little anti-seize Use an Italian torque.

I Kind of don't like to see brand new plugs right now. I'm not gonna lie. really. Why? Why are they running not fired like oh yeah.

like that doesn't make any sense. I mean it only makes sense when you replace the plugs. Maybe maybe the guy wanted to get it running and replace the plugs and then realized like how messed up the fuel system was because those lines were all like kind of loose. Maybe you saw that Gunk and was like forget it I'm out.

That's a lot of it. which makes sense, which makes sense. It's a lot of work. We got to pull apart the entire fuel system right right? and this was a checkbook car.

The guy that owned it didn't actually do like most of the build. it was just dropped off at Shops and stuff. So maybe he was gonna try and get it to go again and then just gave up I Don't know. I I Definitely know that he got the transmission and the drivetrain and the motor built.

Yeah, he didn't build any of those, but yeah, I mean he might have put them in I Don't know. All right guys. going in with the boriscope that is a nice looking piston right there. Oh geez, that's this is the nicest piston we've ever seen.

Yes I mean out of all the cars that we've kind of rescued that haven't ran forever, this is nice watch. I'm gonna jinx myself. but yeah I mean this engine I mean it maybe just has a couple thousand miles on it. It was just all freshly built, never used.

Cylinders look good all right. So that's number one. Here is another one. it's It's all the way up right now so all we can just see is the face of the Piston But that looks good.

and on this one we can see some numbers. 998 one one. We'll have to look that up. Oh yeah, here we go again.

with nine, Nine Eight One one. Let me know guys, Is that a good piston? Uh, everything looks good though. All right. cool.

I Don't even think we need to fog these. They look fine. We're betting a thousand so far. Alex This is.

uh, this is looking too good guys. Uh. I'm a little weary right now. Wow.

Can you just be positive? Come on. I Don't trust anything? Uh, let's let's fog these cylinders and uh, and then we'll try to do the spinny thing. You know, the engine's spinning by hand. All right.

So we got the Amsoil fogging oil going in and we will let that sit for many, many hours first. and this is going to make sure that our first crank or start isn't dry and it'll protect the Pistons the Rings the cylinder walls. all that all that stuff that likes to scratch against each other. it's not properly lubricated, smells really good.

It smells so good. I Can smell that? Well yeah, that smells really good. It's the best. It kind of makes me hungry, right? All right guys.

It's a few hours later and we are going to be turning this crank Like So, All right here. You ready for this? All right? This is going to determine if this motor is good or not I know that's right. I like I Like resting my face on this carbon fiber. Now it's kind of nice.

All right here we go. I'm gonna turn the crank. Oh oh, this piston looks really good. Perfectly there.

we're good. This thing is gonna start in this video. definitely rotates all right. Wow, look at that.

I mean everything is new. The timing belt just? oh yeah. Mitsubishi Guys I mean look at all this stuff. Everything is just top-notch Look at this brand new.

Mitsubishi belt. Well I mean it's not new, but it's you know, very low mileage. It's not dry rotted or anything. but just man.

this is a sweet car. This guy had a ton of money into this. It's got It's got the cam pulleys. it's got the regular.

it's in the power steering pulley like all the pulleys are aluminum. Dude I wonder oh man. I can't wait to hear this I wonder if it's got different cams in it because these things sound pretty good. all choppy.

I'd be hard-pressed to say that he did all of this to the car and didn't put some cams in it, right? All right guys, we're reassembling Peter is reinstalling the spark plugs and coils. meanwhile I just set the machine up for another test so we can have our injector race. Make sure that that one is good actually. I don't know which one it is anymore because I just mixed them all up.

but as long as they're all the same, we'll be all right. Off to the Races Actually, you know what? I'm gonna leave the valve open for a little bit just so everything's up to pressure. We're all good now. Off to the Races Also, we cleaned out the fuel rail.

Just a little bit of carbon choke cleaner and some air pressure and she's looking new all right. We just got done with the test and everything is super. Even these injectors are freshly cleaned and ready to go back in. And if you guys are interested in buying yourself one of these machines, they're actually not too much.

Alright guys, I've cleaned out the fuel pressure regulator so we're good to go back together on that. So I gotta remember to put our spring back on and then we're going to need to push this down all right? So I had to push it while Peter got these started, but we're good. I'll just tighten these all down evenly and our regulator is done all right.

We get this little fuel line out. Oh, it's coming out from here. All right. We need to figure out something that will dissolve all that gunk.

This is just gasoline. Oh there we go. It's coming through a little. Oh yeah.

I mean we have a huge chunk right here. Let's just do one of these. Oh yeah, this is like salad as a rack. but it was getting through a little.

Oh there we go. Now it's flowing. This stuff was really hard. it's breaking it up.

Oh yeah, we're good. All right. Cool. Fuel filter is clean for now.

I'll bring this over by the pressure washer. mint it out. We still need to get the filter element, but be okay. temporarily.

All right. Look at this. Our zip tie goes in this end. no problem.

but not this end. Okay, well, that's good. At least we know which end is clogged. All right.

So we got some welding wire and I can get it to go all the way through to this end. so it's just plugged up right in here. Yeah, we hit a roadblock right there, but this is stronger than a zip tie. It might be able just to break it free.

All right. I've gotten the welding cable to go all the way in, so at least we have poked a hole through whatever's in there. Oh yep. Yep.

Yep. hit me in the face. So really yeah? Oh, look at that. All right.

let's try it from the other end. Oh yeah. shooting me I Don't know why I'm putting my face in there to see if it's clogged. If it doesn't blind me, then we're good.

All right. Cool. We'll keep going with that. We gotta clean the fuel filter.

We'll bring this over to the wash bay. Oh yeah. I wasn't doing that before. Oh yeah.

Oh yeah. look at that. Look at that. All right.

Put back, flush it the other way and we should be all right. Let's blast our fuel filter housing. Oh yeah, look at all that. Gunk We gotta go from this way.

Yeah, wow. that's a big difference. Look at that. This thing is clean too.

We're ready to go back together. All right. So I cut open the clear fuel filter that we used on the coupe Quattro Audi to rig up. It's totally professional and normal fuel system that definitely didn't have lines running outside of the door and I was able to harvest the fuel filter element and it fits perfectly inside of this housing.

So I think this just happens to be the same size. although what's supposed to go in here is like a 65 like. K N Style Metal mesh thing. uh, looks kind of fancy so I'm gonna order that up.

but I think this will work for now just to catch anything that we missed. Injectors are reinstalled, the rail is back, everything is tight. We have our fuel pressure regulator uh, spark plugs, coils are back and we checked the engine oil. I was gonna change it but it is brand new.

Uh I think the guy put new oil filter and plugs tried to start it up just by cranking it. It didn't start and he just gave up. Uh, so we're not even a bother changing the oil right now I Just want to see if this engine will run and then we'll go through our full maintenance package. Abandoned car maintenance package? uh, probably in the next video.

but anyway, we just have to reinstall this and it's bombs away. That's not like the best thing to be saying right now, right? We don't want an explosion. Okay, no, no bombs. Oh hey, we want start, start away all right.

Fuel filter is back in and right now I'm going around and collecting up spider webs I'm just getting them all kind of out of here because some of them are on the exhaust and I'm almost certain. spider webs are flammable. Well, spider webs light on fire. I Have no idea.

Did you know that strand for strand? A spider web strand is just as strong is a steel strand. like if they were the same exact size. Really? Yeah, Wow. yeah.

like there was. there was something to Spider-Man like. Spider-Man's legit. All right.

His web was very, very strong and and we have a ton of Spider-Man webs on this car. Look, look at this. Oh my gosh, all these poor flies got murdered and all these babies just waiting waiting to attack. I'm sorry guys, you gotta go I don't want you Lighting on fire I Have no idea if spider webs light on fire, but we're getting rid of them.

Okay, there we go. So this car doesn't have a battery I Kind of kind of forgot about that. The battery on my Eclipse is in the trunk. so when I saw this empty void here I'm like ah, no big deal but no, this needs a battery.

Oh wait a minute. the battery normally goes there. this is where the air box sits. Okay I forgot.

Oh they have a gigantic catch can down there. That thing is really nice and then all of this stuff here. So yeah. I guess the battery is going to be here now.

We have an extra C4 Corvette battery and we're gonna see if that works. Oh did you hear that it's beeping? We got beep noises. Yes, what is this? Oh, it's for your hazards that works. Oh I Can't wait to see what CDs in here.

but I think we might be ready. We have a completely cleaned out fuel system. injectors, all the lines brand new plugs, brand new plugs. the oil is brand new.

we have a battery we have E85 we have an ignition key. Two giddy idiots. Yes, we have most importantly that let's let's do it All right. All right.

All right. Whoa. Okay, okay okay yeah. oh and listen to that.

uh. any leakage. Oh is that thing that whoa? Okay, okay and the fuel pump just stays on. Okay, there's no priming this system apparently.

Oh wow. yeah, that's not good. The gauge is lit up but they're flashing at me. I don't really know what that means before we fix the fuel leak.

you know I gotta see what CD's in here. No, there's no CD I don't think it's I don't think it's anything down here I think it's all All About That Sending unit up there we must investigate. Let's see what it is. I forgot to put the the clamp back on I was swapping around because it wouldn't fit I forgot what I was too excited.

All right, you're forgiving. Oh there. Okay, at least we got the part All right. Hose clamp is on.

Wow, they are going okay. They sweep but they okay. Oh there we go. What? How much is fuel pressure? 80? PS 80.

Plus it's like 80s. Geez, that's really high and the pumps never stop running. Yeah, uh okay. let's let's do this.

I'm ready. Sound like we have ignition? No. yeah. okay.

well. it didn't start obviously but it cranks like really nice. So I mean that's that's a thing. I'm I'm down with that.

but it doesn't want to fire at all and we have a ton of fuel pressure. Um, so we have to look at ignition. What's that looks like it might have been? Oh wait, it's going towards. is it going into the MSD Oh yeah.

oh that's like is it the power of the ground? I Think it might be the power. Oh oh no. here's the power. Uh, this is the ground to the MSD Yeah, where's the power? The power is going here somewhere like I have the power wire on my hand right now so I'll just ground this.

Let's just ground that and see what happens. There's a fuse for something. It's definitely sparking when I ground it. Oh so okay.

Cool. Let's ground it all right. So we just connected the ground right here temporarily and we're also going to reduce the fuel pressure here because I don't know of any system that needs to be that high. So anyway, let's try it right there ready.

Yep, foreign. We got smoke coming out of the MSD box right now. as soon as we push around to it. that's not good I wonder if that thing got wet or something? I don't know.

Man, it definitely smells like yeah, that's burnt electrical to goodness. Dang, that's not good. I Think this MSD box has given up the ghost. Uh, and unfortunately, they don't have a male and female connector so we are jumping them together so effectively we're eliminating the entire MSD ignition out of the picture.

but Peter has to create this connection. Uh yeah. just make sure you hold that connection real real good there Peter and not not get eaten up by the time. Yeah, and watch the timing belt.

There's a possibility they're only using that MSD for a two-step so this should just run fine without it. all right. Here we go. Oh my gosh, it was just a bad MSD box.

No way. Peter You must hold the connection better. Well, okay we. Well, now that we know it runs, yeah, let's just chop this up and put the proper connector on there and and be good.

I can do that and we're right at about 50 psi fuel pressure so that's pretty good. We'll have to fine tune that, but she runs. She popped right off. I Mean immediately, it runs good.

There's no there's not even any smoke in the shop. I Mean, we didn't really have it running that long, but uh, let's fix that connector and hear this thing a little bit more. Okay, so here's what we did: We cut off the connector from here. Um, because I don't believe we need this MSD at all.

I Don't know if we're going to replace that I Think we can tune everything we need with the factory. ECU So we have hijacked that connector which is right here. it's spliced in and now we can just simply plug it in. There we go.

All right. cool. We've just eliminated a lot of a lot of I think unnecessary stuff I Don't really think we need a two-step especially not if it requires all of this madness here. and this thing is bad.

So anyway, yeah, we're done with this. but I'm too excited to actually remove it right now. We got to start this thing up again. Yeah, yeah, it might actually rotten.

I don't know what that is. Uh, we got 50 psi and fuel pressure. We're good. Okay, this rattling is nothing important I think it's like a bracket or something underneath the car or or that.

I Know you're nervous right now, but it's I've got HP PSI Oil pressure. These pizzas are awesome by the way. Oh these guys are cool. What are they? What do we got going on here? We got the boost gauge yeah, boost oil pressure flashing Flash and check engine light.

this is the oil pressure right here. so we're golden on that. But it's not it's it's. definitely not running the best.

Yeah, this one is running cooler than the other ones, so we might have this cylinder not firing as well as the others. although now it's It's kind of cleaning up though because you weren't It wasn't running before without him holding the accelerator. That was awesome. It runs great for having all that fuel. Sweet. How's temps now? are they? uh, they're evening out.

Yeah, a little hotter in the middle, which sounds about right. All right. Well, this this one. and then this one is the lowest.

Yeah, it's good. It's getting there. you know? Sometimes they're They're not always perfect because you're measuring at a slightly different angle and length of the runner so that that's pretty darn close. This is awesome.

Yes, no smoke coming out from anywhere. It runs beautifully. Those fuel pumps are still kicking. We gotta turn this off.

They're like hardwired in to run at all times, which is a little ridiculous. Dude, this is sweet. I Can't believe this car was like about seven thousand dollars. Yeah like if you factor in the Acura we should be able to get all the receipts for this.

The guy said he's gonna, he's gonna produce like stacks of receipts. So we'll definitely show you in the next video everything that was put into this car and we are going for a ride. Yeah we gotta figure out that rattle situation. You know we gotta figure that out in the box and the brakes.

We gotta look at the brakes and we got to figure out what the fuel pressure is supposed to be because it was set very high and then our normal kind of Maintenance routine on these abandoned vehicles will flush out a bunch more fluids.
